I think that the old flat 4 aircooled VWs could also be had with a petrol powered heater.

Tony,
I see this got a mention in the Bromley Times this week.
Perhaps one of their readers can positively id the vehicle.
On that note, have you tried researching the Kentish Times archives? I am sure there have been similar pictures in there before over the years.
On the other hand. Perhaps the current owner of the number will eventually
hear of it and will be able to confirm if it is attached to the same basic machine, or not, as the case may be.

Quote from David Burke
-in the case of a vehicle being used to go to an event it should fall outside of that
if the driver isnt doing it commercially…….
It has been held that if you travel to an event where you may receive prizes or if you are sponsored in any way, then it can be classified as commercial use i.e. for gain. Many amatuer motorsport participants are now having to take account of this.

Thanks for that Scotavia, must ensure PVR is cleared for action.

Cloud 9, if you click “Help” then “About Internet Explorer” it will say ”64 bit version” in the version data if you are on the 64 bit one. If is doesn’t it is the 32 bit version. Also, the 32 bit version will install in the Program Files (x86) folder on a 64 bit system, along with any other 32 bit programs. Native 64 bit programs load in the Program Files folder. If you have 64 bit Windows you should have both folders and if the original download worked properly you should have both versions of Explorer.
I think that this comes about because Microsoft want to produce programs that use the full capabilities of the operating system and 64 bit has a few technical advantages such as improved memory use capability, but the other big suppliers such as Adobe often haven’t fully caught up yet. They have a large catalogue invested in 32 bit programs.
Of course, if you are using Windows 7 32 bit version, none of the above applies. If you don’t know which you have, go to Start-Control Panel-System and it should be listed there under ‘System’.

Anybody got any news if Quest will show it in the UK as they did with series 1?

Cloud 9. you are not by any chance using the 64 bit version of Explorer 9 are you? Adobe still haven’t solved the issue of running Flash in the 64 bit versions (just as with in E8) and you still have to run the 32 bit version alongside it for when Flash is required. I am delaying changing to Explorer 9 until they get it sorted out. There is a fair bit about it on the Adobe website.

What about the implied sex of inanimate objects like cars, aeroplanes or other machines?
My brother and I were brought up in NW Kent but he has lived in Wiltshire for many years. To me the car is ‘she’ or ‘her’, or even ‘old girl’, but to him it’s ‘he’, ‘him’ or ‘old boy’. Does this occur elsewhere in the country?
His second wife spoke broad Bris’l and I couldn’t understand half of what she said.
Finally on another tack. What is a Brumagem screwdriver?

Since the Queen Mother was born in 1900, she was born in the 19th century. The first year of the 20th century was 1901, just as the first year of the 21st century was 2001. There never was a year zero.
