RE: Scooter and Cyrrus
“If you want the US to be on itself, then why bother with Iraq? Why bother with Israel? Why bother with the likes who disagree with certain parts of US foreign policy?”
You truly aren’t very bright are you? Its because Iraq is attempting to build weapons of mass destruction (WMD)…and who do you suppose Sadam would love to use those weapons on if given a chance…hmmm??
Israel and America. His buddies in Europe have nothing to fear.
RE: Scooter
I’ll answer your question GE, Pres Bush has only asked Russia to give Georgia some time and the chance to clean out the Chechyan terrorists from its soil for themselves…or try to work together at doing so….failing that, then I think Pres Bush would say, “do what you must to defend yourselves”. Now, how does that relate to America and Iraq? Is America supposed to ask Sadam to work harder at getting rid of himself…failing that should we just work harder with him to get rid of himself? Georgia is NOT Iraq. Please try to use a rational argument.

RE: Scooter and Cyrrus
“France and Syria indeed are about the same”
In my book they are. Both would like to see Iraq and Sadam Hussein left alone to do whatever evil it choses…both would love to see the PLO/Hamas/Hizbollah bomb Israel out of existance….and both are now nothing more than bitter “has-beens” on the international scene. To me, I see no difference whatsoever. 😉

RE: UN security council
And why would you care if we went to play in another “sand pit”?
Why would it bother you? You all seem so tired of participating under a UN that has “self centered” America in it. You would rather have Syria sitting as a member of the UN Human Rights Council and kick America off of it. What’s next, giving Iran a permanent seat on the UNSC and ask America to step down? Actually, that’s fine by me…America needs to go its on path and not be bothered by the “sackless” and indecisive nations of the world anyway. Its obvious that France, Germany, Russia and the other paranoid states in the world would rather have it that way.

RE: UN security council
JJ and Scooter…well said gentlemen.
I’ve been on this site for only a short time, but in that time I’ve read plenty of anti-American comments. Most of it due mainly to jealousy, but some of it to just out right ignorance. I look forward to following this thread and getting a chuckle out of all the “wishful” thinking that the America-haters come up with.
For what its worth, I think the U.S. should just bow out of the UN and ask the remaining tenants of that building to kindly relocate to another country. Maybe the Brits, Canadians and Aussies (along with a few others perhaps) could join us in a new organization…but China, Russia, France, Syria, Iran, et al can go form their own despotic alliance somewhere else.
