yes I went Sat low cloud and poor weather in the rest of the country meant that we had the pleasure of plenty of models doing the rounds. Lots of the historic stuff didn’t show. The catalina was impressive as was the cirus pair if thats the name. Weather yet again curtailed the show.

As far as Cosford is concerned there are no plans at the moment for it to go there. Remember it went in through the roof its goiong to take some careful planning to get it out if thats the case.

They can huff and puff as much as they like getting XH558 in the air again was always going to be a lost cause. Signing contracts doesn’t mean a thing unless the insurance issue is sorted out. If Sally B is grounded there is no chance of XH558 getting airbourne again. I don’t think the CAA were taken into considerstion when the lottery fund dished out the money, anyway there is still funding outstanding where ever it comes from. Which ever way you look at it the future looks bleak.

The Argosy was moved because of the new build taking place there may well be more moves as the building progresses

I think its highly unilkely the major reason it was stopped was the costs, in particuler the insurance. It would be great if it did come back but I think its unlikely.

Trying to get so much into such a confined space gives rise to the question should all the exhibits have been moved. The Cosford exhibits could have been displayed better and in a more photo able environment if left at Cosford. Seems to me bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better.

Fond memories.

so it would seem that the vulcan is going back where she belongs. If the CAA are going to let her fly surely this must open the gates for the return of Lightings and all the other stuff currenlty residing in and flying in south africa, be cause our CAA refuse the necessary permits. Is there going to be a difference made between the tyoes.

Most people have donated money towards this appeal. How deep is the pockets. There must come a point when someone has to say enough is enough. Most people pass the blue bin and put their money in, but it doesn’t seem to be making any inroads into what is required. Alot of money is needed but most people don’t have buttomless pockets. There must be some finality to this project, there have been many predictions and many false claims, lets have some reality. The VOC can’t expect Joe public to fund the short fall by themselves. I can see the headlines the vulcan doesn’t fly because the enthusiasts didn’t stump up. I will wait and see. If all doen’t go well why should she go to Duxford. There are other sites.
