How many listed building have been demolished over the years. If need be theres always around the red tape. There is still a major shortfall in funding, if the VOC had have up front and didn’t change every thing over and over again, then maybe people would be more positive.

As someonewho left approx 6:00 and was home in warrington in time to watch the excuse for a footie match would have been better to be stuck in traffic. No probs getting out traffic moving slowly but moving. May be you shouldn’t have left in time for the football. The traffic mentality of some drivers left alot to be desired. drive over anyone who was in their way. I witnessed some diabolical examples of people driving over people just to get out. It was along day with no prospect of getting away early so why try if you wnated to watch the match why come to an airshow. Stop whinging and get on with it.

I think the platting fog anoloy springs to mind. If the CAA are reluctant to authorise the lightnings and the bucc to fly what chance does the MIG have. It will probably end up going some where esle that appreciates historic aviation and the british scene will yet again fall foul of the CAA.
Why can South Africa fly our historic aircarft with no problems but in the UK the dreaded CAA raise its ugly head. Remember we are still waiting not only on heritage money to get XH558 into the air but also CAA approval not only for the flying permit but also approval of the workshops at Buntingthorpe to do the aessemlby it would seem that the only people who apprciate our heritage are outside the UK. Remember the last Sunderland flew to Kermit Weeks museum and has never flown again what a waste, it was a wonderful sight on Windermere but it left a;sas never never to grace the skies again.

I beg to differ. Cosford was originally called the Aersospace Museum Cosford which giave it some uniquness and indivduality. it has only been referred to as the Aeroapcae museum since the emrgance and total dominance of Hendon. Until the developement of Hendon cosford and its collection was left alone its only since the expansion of Hendon has the collection at cosford been split. Many unique aircraft have been moved down to London to fill gaps but with no visible theme it just seems we have that space lets put someyhing in there we don’t have anything decent let take it drom somewhere else. If you apeak to some of the staff or vounteers at cosford, the people who are in the know I am sure you might get a different perspective.

The expense didn’t seem to matter when they gutted Cosford to fill the new build at Hendon. The problem could be political in that because they have taken so much form Cosford to fill Hendon they have to be seen to be reasonable and maybe give something back. The stuff moved form Cosford doesn’t fit well into Hendon and would have been better staying put.
When they wanted stuff for IAT the cost didn’t seem to matter. It would appear whatever Hendon wants Hendon gets at wahtever the cost.
The other major issue on the horizon is the future of the aviation hall at Manchester. If the rumour chain is to be believed it is closing so dioes that mean that hendon will once again get first pick to fill up theuir empty space. Don’t fprget there is an almost complete Shack there, that is still on charge to Cosford. The major issue is should Hendon be allowed to decimate other collectoins so they can fill their own ambitions. Sorry for the Rant but ots easier to get to Cosford than Hendon, and cosfords cafe is cheaper.

The Liberator is alledgely going in exchange for the Valiant from hendon. This is going to make up the cold war theme for the new glass hanger.
