Believe that if you want. I am not going to bother chasing down all the relevant evidence just to be met with cheap non sequiturs and filibusters.

I am just reporting what the Russian military said.

But you think that the Rus military woke up this morning and decided to start telling lies.

No you are reporting what was said according to “The Duran”.

Btw, I find it hysterical that you, who once posted that Fox News was majority owned by gulf state emirs and the such (which wasn’t true as I showed before you deleted your post) is posting from the Duran?Do you know who the editor is? Do a little footwork.

There is no clear line between the opposition groups, if I didn’t state that clearly my fault.

There is a fairly clear line between ISIS and those various factions fighting Assad. Does that mean that a fighter with alliegence to Nusra has never fought with Islamic state? No. But there is a difference. As brutal as some of those groups are, their appalled by ISIS too. Again, does that mean that lower level fighters don’t move between the groups? No, they do and that is clear as well.

I love it how everyone is so convinced that ISIS is interchangeable with these other groups and that somehow the U.S. is supporting them despite spending billions to attack them and provide special forces guidance to the Iraqi forces. Again, make perfect sense; if you read Sputnik. Loving reading these posts with this “holier than thou”, implied moral superiority:
“The Russians are the one’s truly fighting the terrorists like ISIS, the U.S. is helping ISIS”. Says who, Russian media? Yeah, your informed.

Please, that crap may play well on RT. Every single sentient person can differentiate between: the FSA, the more radical jihadist groups fighting Assad, and ISIS.

First group- many western and gulf states have supported
Second- Gulf states have supported, probably directly (definitely indirectly) received help from west.
Third group- no one supports, even other organized jihadist groups.

The only ones who seem muddled on this are posters on here and certain media outlets from unnamed countries (when it suits them).

No worries, just so long as I can spell “hypocrite” correctly, I can respond to your posts.

I usually stop reading posts after the first big mistake, and since you don’t even get my name right I didn’t go very far at all.

    Too bad.

Yes too bad, might have bumped you out of that smug self-serving bubble you seem to surround yourself in. Convinced you have some superior insight due to rejecting conventions and embracing every twisted piece of propaganda and fake news that paints your “NATO boogeyman” in a bad light.

Cheers. (And your name was an auto-correct mistake)

    lol

Ah, Nicholas. Perhaps you would like to expound upon your premise of “corrupt” western democracies crushing the common man around the world with the yoke of capitalism and free will…….while sitting comforably in France and safe to state those views. Hypocrite much?

Well “the Duran” is a reliable source…… wait no it isnt. It makes every list of “questionable” news sites.

Anyway KGB, none of those conspiracy theories make any sense when you think logically about the situation. ISIS does not respect/recognize borders. On the face of it, why would the US (or anyone) be fighting ISIS in one nation and be allowing safe passage into another. ISIS forces pour back and forth based on the pressure they are facing. Russia/Syria were focused on Aleppo. The Iraqi/western forces are engaged with ISIS in northern Iraq and Kurdish forces are pushing them west.

The ISIS forces remaining are concentrating where there is the least pressure on them, that is all.

A search operation was widely reported in the Soviet press and on television. The divers told a lot of interesting details. A few broken planes, a large number of shoes with the connected laces in place KAL007. Many such “truthful Western media” will never tell

You nailed it Paralay! It wasn’t an Su-15 that shot down KAL 007, it was a false flag incident involving an EF-111. Or was it the EF-111 that jammed the 747 navigation so it strayed into Soviet territory….. then shot itself down!

In fact the pilot of the Su-15 must have be disoriented by the EF-111 jamming his eyes when he fired on the 747:

In a 1991 interview with Izvestia, Major Gennadi Osipovich, pilot of the Su-15 interceptor that shot the 747 down, spoke about his recollections of the events leading up to the shootdown. Contrary to official Soviet statements at the time, he recalled telling ground controllers that there were blinking lights….” He continued, saying that “I saw two rows of windows and knew that this was a Boeing. I knew this was a civilian plane

Wait! There’s more. The U.S. spy planes forced the U.S.S.R to lie about the circumstances of the shoot down:

We shot down the plane legally… Later we began to lie about small details: the plane was supposedly flying without running lights or strobe light, that tracer bullets were fired, or that I had radio contact with them on the emergency frequency of 121.5 megahertz.” At the time of the attack, the plane was cruising at an altitude of about 35,000 feet. Tapes recovered from the airliner’s cockpit voice recorder demonstrate that the crew were unaware that they were off course and violating Soviet airspace

Sad, some can’t admit it was a mistake. HAS to be those evil Americans and conspiracy theories.

And Why do we see Kazakhstan on that map…?

Because it is part of CENTCOM AOR:
    http://www.centcom.mil/ABOUT-US/COMPONENT-COMMANDS/
Every part of the earth is covered by one of the six Geographic Combatatant Commands under the unified command. Anyway, it’s not like Kazakhstan doesnt have a working relationship with U.S. over recent conflict in Afganistan.

Since LRIP 9 the F35 costs are much clearer: 200 million per bird. Operating costs also higher than legacy fighter according to Pentagon.

Ok, take your moronic, trolling, dog and pony show to a new thread. Obviously, you cannot read documents, have no interest in actually discussing (since everything you post has been rebutted, but you repost it) the topic.

Maybe then, the rest of us can have an intelligent discussion.

    McCain’s “White Paper”:
    1. Modify exsisting LHA into small carriers with cats/traps. No idea how his office proposes to make the LHA speed acceptable for traditional carrier ops.
    2. Cut the LCS for a “true frigate”, Navy against this due to probable five year delay from LCS production freeze to new frigate.
    3. Double sub production (great idea, but not sure it’s possible unless each yard can have several SSBN and and SSN under construction at the same time).
    4. Increase Arleigh Burke flight III planned numbers (already shaping up to be the next great cost overrun). Personally, I think the Zumwalts should have been kept in production beyond the 3 as a hedge for the flight III. Zumwalts have the power/space for AN/SPY-6(V).
    5. Speed up fielding of MQ-25. (I really don’t get this program, HV-22 could fill COD and tanker roles), if the Navy is going to field a LO UCAV, you would think that it would have a strike capability.

Curious about this line from the DOT&E:

The actual empty aircraft weight was 28,999 pounds, 372
pounds below the planned not-to-exceed weight of 29,371
pounds. The actual weights of production aircraft since
then have been stable, with no significant weight growth
observed. Weight estimates for production Lots 10 and
later indicate an expected weight growth of between 120
and 140 pounds, primarily due to new electronic warfare
    (EW) avionics.

Spudman, has there been any info released about new (EW) equipment fitted to the F-35?

Edit- F-16.net posters speculating it is the Band 2/5 (VHF/L-band, according to poster) EW system contracted in 2015 (Seems I wasn’t the only one curious about that line from the report).

Addition- Having trouble deciphering the RF bands (ITU, Nato, IEEE), to match. Even more, NATO band type 2 refers to frequency bands used for radiolocation. Insight anyone?

The hump behind cockpit is the same as Vanila Flanker. I read that it might be even larger(extra fuel). .

This arguement has runs it’s course, I doubt there is anyone other than the three principals in this discussion that care whether the F-18 E/F or the Su-35 is more of a clean sheet design than the other. Not to mention, this is the F-35 thread. Thanks-

Yes, after the US Navy’s VTAS system in the early 1970s.

Yes, VTAS did have limited operational deployment. I think one of the articles above stated about 400 systems were delivered and fitted to Navy/Marine F-4’s. Anyway, large scale deployment of HMS by the US Army on AH-64 and AH-1 also need to be considered.
