Nice one thanks. 🙂
I notice that there are a few Mk1’s there without sabrinas fitted.
This is the look im after. Nice clean lines for a fast model.
Lindys lad’s pic has the full lower checkerboard pattern that I like also.

Thanks, I have that one. Its a bit on the small side for obtaining the details though. Any larger pics that show better detail please?
Cheers:)
Nice pic. Im going to have to update my MkVb now. I only modelled the two round bits from dowel.
Thanks.:)
Well, you lot are in for a real treat when you finally get to see Miss Velma.
I went round to the hanger for a look, and can confirm that she is perfect in every way possible. This was the first time I have ever seen a P51, and they look huge compared to a Spitfire.
I have some pics here that I can post in a wee while. I did take 80 odd of them!:D
She is still in Wick for the night. Im off home to see her!!!!:D 😎
Are they still here in Wick?
Weather has been very poor, and is due to be like this all week. It should be able to get away today though. 😡 Bad one for me then. Stuck at work.
I wish they would call at Wick airport instead of Stornoway.
Id love to see them here.
Can the route be changed!!??;)
Its looking fantastic. Keep up the great work Steve. I cant wait to see the finished film.
Memories are worth saving for future generations. Most kids nowadays dont know anything about the war, which is a great shame.
The bomber command crews faced huge danger every mission, and never even batted an eyelid.
Respect.

Wick airport has been used as a waypoint for trans-Atlantic flights.
There was a silver DC3 here last year, on its way over the water.
It caused a stir with the local avation geeks. Not many older types round here. Ive never even seen a real Tiger Moth!!!!
Hi,
Just a wee bump to see if anyone has any info on this one yet?
Thanks.:)
The pilot of Z5145 was Jens Muller. The pilot of Z5266 was Leif Lundsten.
They were flying from RAF Castletown, looking after the best interests of the home fleet in Scapa Flow.
I was told about this years ago by a guy that lives in Lybster. He did not know where/if there was a crash scene to visit of Z5145 though. It may well have hit the sea, because Lybster is a fishing village.

An interesting read. Thanks very much.
Hah, I know what you mean about old car! I also have 4 classic Mini’s, hence the handle!:p
Im researching a Beaufighter TX at the moment from 404 squadron, called “Eightball”, that crashed locally. I was getting info from here about her a few months back. She will be around 10th scale or so as well. Im not starting to cut any wood untill its thoroughly researched and perfect first though.:)
Hi Bex, Ive got an 1/8th scale Mk2 Hurricane hanging from our dining room roof, next to a 1/10th scale Stearman. Theres a 1/12th scale MkVb Spitfire, and a 1/10th scale Hurricane Mk1 in the lounge. The Spit lives on top of the TV, and the Hurri is on its own shelf, cos it has retracts. All are full house RC.
The spare bedroom is jam-packed with my scale toys, all my own design and scratch built.
The missus hasnt got a look in! :diablo:
Poor guy, I know how he feels, but Id never spend that sort of cash on a model. If I had that sort of money, Id be buying a real aircraft!;)
My missus complains about my modelling habit. I told her that the planes were here before she was, and they’ll be there long after she’s gone!:dev2:
