Well done to Tony for scanning these and David for posting them.
Yes, a big thank you for these and your other postings as they are fantastic shots.
Thats great news….i had an excellent guided tour around there last year as part of the Bentwaters Aviation Societies visit and the staff were brilliant.
Well done to them to overcome the problems and get the museum ready for this season.
In 1957 the 79th Fighter Bomber Squadron (part of the 20th Fighter Bomber Wing) were based at RAF Woodbridge with F-84F’s.
But 1957 was the year the 79th started converting to the F-100,so by the November of that year when the collision occured they might have fully gone over to F-100’s ?

Thats great news…can’t wait to the day when it gets airborne.
Here is the same Voodoo 70270 ex Texas Air National Guard in use for battle damage repair training at RAF Woodbridge in September,1985
I read on another forum today that the Meteor T.7 from Chelmsford in Essex which was under care of the local A.T.C was noted loaded up on a lorry today and departed.
So could be on its way to Leconfield ?
Holton ‘Triple Plea’ just outside of Halesworth in Suffolk has lots of photo’s on the walls of P-47’s and B-24’s which were based a few hundred yards down the road at Holton airfield during WW2.
Plus they serve real ale guest beers 😀

I hope Bentwaters manage to work to some kind of collecting policy!
These airframes fit in perfectly with our Collecting policy as they are Cold War military related.
It would be very nice just to have RAF Bentwaters/Woodbridge related aircraft on display like an A-10A,F-4C/D,F-86A/D/F,F-84F/G,
F-101A/C,F-100D/F,F-16C,HC-130N/P,MH-53J…. etc but the chances of any of these is very slim considering the USAF Museums very strict guidelines on any of their ex military airframes going to private museums 🙁

The F-86A G-SABR and Hunter G-PSST are sitting on the ramp tonight.
Great to see the F-86A do a little display before landing.

Above info is slightly out of date. The PT-19 Cornell will also be present in one capacity or another, weather permitting of course.
We were meant to have flown already this week for a few hours. Ho hum……
