3. OTH/Skywave radar. As discussed on here ad nauseum resolution decreases massively with range. You get a rough bearing, a velocity vector and a very rough range figure and thats your lot. You dont get any indication of target size whatsoever for example.

main problem was sooo many signals it picks up with its big antenae aperture system .now with huge processing power and using combination of ionosfere multiple bouncing or surface earth curviture following signal. it can detect with 10 km resolutions small narcotic-cartel boats ,stelth planes etc thousands of kilomethers away… let alone a enourmous carrier .the size of carrier also makes much better precison resolution on long distances…
ussr and russia had in siberia radars that could monitor continental unitead states.
i dont think carrier would dream of coming less then 3000km near shore rendering its useless ,nore launching its planes even further as it would give the direction of carier away.
I dont understand this ,nobody mentioned Over The Horizon radar russia and china use in pacific with 700-3000km ranges , and also good underwater sonar network that tracks rumbling of carrier group very far away.
-that keeps cariers of your coast and thats most important,but if you want to track them over the planet another approches are needed.

you wish ,mig was years and still is ahead of suhoi in terms of technology. mig 1.41 was thew proof ,s-47 is poof useless ,mig141 would whipe floors with any other fighter bear f-22 and if plasma stelt device workead as it should it would be unbeatable. yet its was not mig fault but keldysh institute it didnt work. mig done their job exellent.
