Its track-via-missile!But for ships u really need a larger warhead. And cruise missiles are much better for that.
Your thoughts on this?
‘For the Present, One BrahMos missile will be Fitted on Su-30Mki Without any Structural Modifications’
Interview With Dr A. Sivathanu Pillai
Feb 2006 [http://www.forceindia.net]
Dr A. Sivathanu Pillai, Chief Controller, Defence Research and Development Organisation and CEO, BrahMos
Interesting that model of Sukhoi with 3 brahmos missiles. And on the picture at defexpo its just 1!
To convert brahmos into 1000 km cruise missile will be done in secret at least at start in order not to disturb pakistan [or china] too much and i dont think they would say that in open-for now.Its not a big problem for russians they have done it before just add a big solid booster at the bottom and tripple the range. :diablo:
some sources give 60kg some 55 other 50kg but the ones with smaller warhead are given a bit longer range and max altitude.also the speed varies.I thought it might be pesa but some sources said aesa buti guess they ment it probably in the future http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/missile/row/akash.htm
http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/MISSILES/Akash.html -on this site they claimed production start in year 2000.is that 3d radar slowing the project down or other rocket projects eating the money or something else?
second stage ramjet is used on kub austin let alone buk, grizzly, akash…
http://www.canit.se/~griffon/aviation/text/missiles/sam.html
-thanks to ramjet rocket accelerates an keeps its speed constant unlike solid fuel powered like on the 3rd diagram.
—Solid fuels rockets do have higher max. speed, are more manuverable and are good for smaller ranges, ramjet is better for middle/long ranges.Wheres the limit in range where the 2 stage solid fuel rocket stops being more effective then solid+ramjet? Also the price is importent but i think kub and pechora did have the same price, and same ranges.
so is the warhead 50kg or 55kg? What is better the Buk,Grizzly,or Akash.I heard Akash has the best guidance and resistance to jamming and best [Aesa] radar that can guide 12? rockets.
GarryB-The latest versions of Tunguska have missiles with dual AA and AT warheads and 15km range, so the difference is blurred!-this rockets are not too heavy
all military and engeneears stride for are universal flexible battlefield weapons
hmvys jeeps other small vehicles sure can cary
can a manpad be that weapon-though question…
carried by 2 man yes but just 1…?
Yes that was the strategy, was a centralised attack not by 1 rocket but, sarh[with added IR],amos, and IC alamo, novator had to sell knowlege by government order under reorganisation to vympel.R-27p sarhalamo~ks-172 novator.
I was talking to some people there and there was a lot of talk in a open forum for suggestions about the flanker-final series.the best proposal was to delete vertical and horizontal fins and just use thrust-vectoring with fly-by-wire to keep it under control, also to spray some ram on intakes and to do the compressor blades, add a plasma screen on radar, also to change wing shape to that of y-23 black-widow [or new proposed wings of pak-fa].This choises were judged interesting but to risky and ram as expensive and it will be sold separatly at customers request.i dont think it was too ambitious, exept for reliable tvc!all in all this is not a new flanker…
U guys from abovetopsecretforum are all like that-u post something, but say nothing! They have tested it in April this year.U are 6 months late.
