Very nice to an ATR72 in United Airways-livery. What are the plans of United Airways? Will the ATR72 replace the Dash 8? Is United Airways the first operator of the ATR in Bangladesh?

    Thanks for answers.

I understood that Blue Line will continue to fly the contracts until their planned liquidation. Reminds me of some other operators in the past like Hamburg Airlines. This company announced their end weeks before and it was a “planned end”.

The only information that I know:

    Helsinki – London Heathrow KF555/556, effective 26SEP10

However I am not 100% sure about these dates because of the delayed introduction of the 717.

Blue1 inaugurated Boeing 717-services today with flight BLF651 from Helsinki to Copenhagen. The aircraft was scheduled to land at 01:30 PM.

It seems that the 717 is still an attractive product for many airlines (now) and the used ones are searched on the used market.

I think that (sadly) there are not that many airlines that are interested in the 717. Boeing was not able to do business with the DC-9/-MD-80/-90-costumer-base inherited with McDonnell Douglas and the base was huge at one time (some don´t believe that). You can count all the airlines who selected the 737 as replacements for MD-80s etc. after the merger and the number is not that high while Airbus was able to secure more MD-costumers for business with their A320-family.

The interest of Blue1 is rather a nice and interesting exception compared to other companies who selected alternative aircraft currently in production. The entire costumer-census of the 717 is rather small and you can count them very easily. Even airlines with very good 717-operating-experience folded their operation or replaced their 717s during the last years and it will be interesting to see what happens to the 25 Boeing 717s originally booked for MexicanaClick.

I don´t know. The anticipated future fleet-size of the 717 at Blue1 was known before MexicanaClick folded.

The last MD-90 will be phased out during January 2011. The entire MD-90-fleet will find a new home in the USA and in the fleet of Delta Air Lines. Blue1 plans to operate 14 Boeing 717s but some sources say that the 717-fleet could be topped to up to 24 aircraft within the next years but I am not so sure about these intentions unless there are more reliable sources.

That´s very nice but do you have some information about the inauguration of the 717 into their schedule?

Very nice to see the 717 in Amsterdam!

    Second Boeing 717 for Blue1

Blue1 took delivery of their second Boeing 717-200. This aircraft will bear the registration OH-BLJ and is temporarly registered SE-REL.

Can somebody inform us about their planned inauguration? Most sources say that the aircraft is in operation but I was not able to find a reliable source and the website is not updated with new fleet-info etc..

Lessors have seized at least ten aircraft and ferried them to the US.

Do you know the exact types affected? Is AeroMexico in the position to fill the void left by Mexicana, MexicanaClick and MexicanaLink?

    Thanks

LAN and TAM will continue to operate with their respective brands. That´s like Air France-KLM. It will be interesting to see which Alliance will be selected for the combined entity.

It’s a pity your signature link doesn’t point to a website that the average forumite might understand, MD-80.
My rudimentary German language skills have become somewhat rusty in the intervening 60 years since the days of Herr Lehrer.

    Hello,

I am sorry that my website is only in German language but I´ve tried to find some sort of a solution:

    http://www.md-80.com/change-language/

After a change to another language, click on “Contents” on the left navigational bar and you will see a manually made list of all pages. The translation is not 100% correct but it´s a guideline for all non-German speakers. The usage of the “Contents”-page is important due to the fact that the translator does NOT work when using a drop-down menu for example.

    Thank you!

    Kindest regards!

    PS:

    Herr Lehrer.

I am glad that I am no longer in need to say that to my teacher 😉
