    New Look ALW

    Hi Guys,
Yes I do look through the Forum (although not perhaps as often as I should).
Thanks for all the comments regarding the new fonts. They miirror comments that I have had from emails etc. Basically, some people think they are great and some not so. I am assuming that the adverse comments are from the News section and not from the rest of the magazine. We will look at this as I am not 100% sold on the style as yet.
Other questions that have been raised:
Not a lot we can do about the cost of the magazine overseas. We make no more profit than anywhere else, it is just the extra shipping costs. I advise overseas readers to get a subscription – it works out cheaper in the long run.
About the Sachets article, it is curious that some found it very interesting and some not. It goes to show that you cannot please everyone all the time.
Regarding the News. We actually finish putting the magazine together between 12 and 14 days before the magazine hits the streets, due to the production and distribution system, so for many there is a lot of old news. If something comes out just after we have gone to press it can be 5 weeks before it is read in the magazine.
Please keep the comments – good or bad – coming. We cannot improve unless we are told what may be wrong.

    RE: Latest issue

Well spotted guys. Actually, as we mention in the text, the -400 was a derivative of the -300 (and called the -300A at one stage), we thought that we would slip in a ciouple of colourful images of the -300.

    RE: Current Magazine

    Thanks for all the comments.
I am afraid that despite everything, some errors do creep through in spelling and the A320 shot, but we are trying to minimise these.
The magazine should be available in all WHSmiths in the UK and is generally taken off sale on the Tuesday prior to the on sale date (second Wednesday of the month). Subscribers should get the magazine even earlier. You can order the magazine from any newsagent.
We looked at complimentaryy copies in airport lounges and airlines, but the number of ‘freebies’ required is uneconomical.
We cannot do anything about the high price of the magazine abroad and we know that it is a problem, so I just recommend you look at the benefits of subscribing.
We are planning to revisit UK airports and Leeds/Bradford is on the list. I am also waiting for more information from Sangster International before publishing the article.
    Keep up the comments.

RE: Airliner World June 2002 through already!

    Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all your comments re the magazine and the poster. We did the UK’s airlines in a poster two years ago and deliberately left out BA (and bmi and Virgin) this time. We also hope to do a ‘low cost and leisure’ poster next year to collect easyJet etc.
Free poloshirts is the latest marketting offer which took over from the free binder. You can get a polo shirt on P68, but I a afraid you have to pay for it.
