Duxford, only a few miles away must be my least favorite museum because it appears that everything must be under cover and hanging from a ceiling. Is this the way of the future?

Perhaps ‘under cover OR hanging from the ceiling’ would be a better description. For the time being the answer is probably ‘yes’.
