IIRC, the original wings for AK803 were cut off outboard of the mains, and the wing was replaced later with a complete unit (as per the Warbird Registry info).

I’ve always wondered what happened to the original (cut) set? I am sure that there are a few companies here & abroad that nowadays would be interested in bringing them back to life and putting them on an airframe.
