Come to the US. We could use some immigrants who speak English as a first language. 🙂
I live in a medium-size town at nearly the same latitude as London.
Nice climate, low crime, not bad traffic.
And you can get a nice home for 100,000 pounds…or a super home on a couple of acres for 200,000.

The highest answer being 4.2% which is surprisingly low (even if it is the correct answer); but who is this question trying to educate?
Where do you expect them to get the figures from? The census which is over 10 years old now? Even so, it wouldn’t include illegal immigrants.
@paul178
I passed.

I don’t mind where we go as long as its in the EU, what about Spain, We could open a Fawlty Towers type place, STILL get our Pensions, winter fuel allowance, plus we can always come back later in the back of a container lorry via Dover, thats the way most of our Bros come in:eek:

Not a Birmingham bus then?
It will be like going home for you, as we are all going over there but if you want to feel like it’s home from home, transport can be arranged.

13 out of 24 (54%)
Could have had more relevant questions.
Does it matter when women got the right to divorce their husbands ? At least in this country they can. [if only more would]:D;)

Someone has pushed in front of you in the bus queue. Do you..?
You’d better hope there is something in the ‘study guide’ explaining what a ‘queue’ is! 😉
In the United Kingdom your journey on the Railways is most likely to be delayed because (pick two):
a) Leaves on the line
b) Armed bandits have seized St Pancras station
c) The government have removed the EU subsidy (and now you’re expected to pay for your ticket)
d) A strike because the ‘Workers Utopian Paradise’ doesn’t work unless those capitalists lend us the money to pay for it
e) You forgot to bribe a local official to get a travel permit
f) The wrong type of snow

I was looking for the question.
Name all the great things that the ” British Empire ” has done for the rest of the world ??
By: Blue_2 - 17th May 2012 at 13:41
50%, fail. I’ll get me coat. And me bags. Best sneak myself out of the country then…
By: Creaking Door - 17th May 2012 at 13:41
Just done a re-sit (in under four minutes) and passed with 79%! :p
(By the way, for anybody studying for the test, a ‘re-sit’ didn’t involve me paying anybody any money in a brown envelope! :diablo:)
Quite frankly I’m surprised I passed the second time, and also that I only failed by three questions the first time, because I was guessing most of the answers on both tests. Some of the questions seem to be geared as much at education as to ‘citizenship’; for example:
‘The percentage of people in the UK in 2001 who said they were Muslims was:’
The highest answer being 4.2% which is surprisingly low (even if it is the correct answer); but who is this question trying to educate?
By: VX927 - 17th May 2012 at 13:21
Failed! Bags are packed… But where do I go?
By: ppp - 17th May 2012 at 13:08
FWIW I passed easily when I took the test a couple months ago when the story first surfaced, but that’s more due to me having an interest in politics and the like, rather than some absurd idea of me being “more British” than the other people in the thread.
