Conspiracy theories ??

Looking at the “What made you want to swear today Post, reminded me of a film, re conspiracies, (Not a true story however) and it made me think, so I googled Current Conspiracy Theories, and was amazed to see that there is, alledgedly, a single pill that has been made, that will cure all forms of Cancer, however the pharmacutilcal Company/ies refuse to market it because it will put them out of business.
What do members think, is it possible that it could be remotely true?.

Jim.

Global government is often taken to be a conspiracy, especially in the US, usually linked with New World Order/Bilderberg/Jews etc (the core of any conspiracy). Of course if you live in Europe, then the above conspiracy, removing the talk about NWO/Bilderburg/Jews and replace them with civil servants and politicians wages, and you get something that looks all too real.

1. if a motor manufacturer could build a car that would last a lifetime with no spares needed !! …. would they ??

2. a further thaught as the world heads rapidly towards over population is it realy a good idea to try to extend everybodys lives !!

1. Because it would be very reliable and because there is competition. An AK rifle would probably last a lifetime with very few spares and they seem to be selling well πŸ˜‰

2. Yes, the world is not “over-populated”. The planet could support a far larger population, and beyond that that we could populate other planets too.

@J Boyle
There are 100mpg carburetors, just look at 50cc mopeds…

Well I believe the pill (Dichloroacetate, DCA) is actually entering trials from when I last looked at this, ~6 months ago, so hopefully something will come of it. I’ve no idea whether it is effective or not. I’ve seen people claim it is effective, though these are people associated with the DCA groups!

@Mr Creosote
LEDs can last a very long time.

@critter592
Those videos may prove chem trails to be true, since they are chemicals and forming trails. But, I suspect the chemical is a different type to the one the conspiracy theorists claim it is. This is probably the most entertaining claim from them to date (it’s test plane, nothing to do with chemtrails) πŸ˜€

Just look up ‘chem trails’ on youtube……prepared to be boggled!

Boggled by the crass stupidity and ignorance of the conspiracy theorists, that is. πŸ˜€

Finding myself unable to sleep, and somewhat bored, I followed Baz’s suggestion.
Here are two absolute gems:

Proof Chemtrails are NOT Contrails

Chemtrail Sprayer – 100% proof

I have heard that even the mention on a conspiracy thread regarding Area 51 carries a 10 stroke Cat O Nine Tails penalty :diablo:

A popular conspiracy story when I was a lad (nearly a million years ago now) was that someone had invented an ever-lasting light bulb, but that General Electric or someone had bought the rights and stopped it ever coming to light (pardon the pun)

Oh goody… A “conspiracy theory” thread… :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Having been on the receiving end of one of these Grade 1 nut-jobs a few months back, I’m inclined to agree with:

Conspiracy theorists are losers, nuts or the mentally ill who get some sort of validation by thinking they know something “special” that no one else knows.

The aforementioned nut-job claimed to have found an “unrecorded Tornado crash site” near Sheffield, and proceeded to link it with the so-called Howden Moor Incident.

I’ll see if I can find his e-mail correspondence and the links to his “report”. I’m sure it will bring a smile to a few faces… πŸ˜‰

EDIT: Here’s the link to his “report”:

http://www.checktheevidence.co.uk/cms/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=152&Itemid=51

Here is a second link, to a somewhat lengthy thread on the Sheffield Forum discussion boards. There are pictures of the alleged “crash site” in there:

http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=640328

(The author of the “report” in the first link posts there under the name maxwell1)

Talking about cancer and the possibility of living forever I remember watching a TV show that said that cancer was a cell in the body that had mutated to give it three characteristics:

1) A mutation of some kind
2) The ability to reproduce itself (this is normal for all cells)
3) It had become immortal

And I think it is the fact that cancer cells reproduce themselves and are immortal that causes the problem and why cancer β€˜spreads’ after all each cell in the body only needs to replace itself for you to stay alive; your number of cells doesn’t grow (like the human population).

Isn’t it funny that human (cell) immortality is real but linked to cancer and human population growth is a bit like cancer?

…right up there with a guy in his garage who developed a carburetor that got 100 MPG…only to be bought off by GM…

Don’t forget the β€˜Water Engine’, an engine that uses water as its fuel, because everybody knows that water is H2O and hydrogen (H) and oxygen (O) make the perfect fuel (and that part is a fact)…

…but it is this β€˜half-understanding’ of science that makes conspiracy theories so seductive!

And (most) people are just lazy and ignorant…..and it is just easier to sound like you are one of the intellectual elite that really knows what is going on than to actually question what you are told and accumulate enough real knowledge to separate fact from fiction!

…if a motor manufacturer could build a car that would last a lifetime with no spares needed…..would they??

Yes, and they have been doing so for decades. Many manufacturers now offer β€˜lifetime’ warranty on parts.

I think the confusion here is between spare-parts needed because they break, and consumable-spares such as oil-filters, air-filters, windscreen-wipers, brake-pads, tyres and so on. The reason that these parts still need to be replaced on a car is because it is cheaper and better to do so; why carry a huge oil-filter around for 250,000 miles when it is better to replace it (and the oil) after 25,000? You can already buy stainless-steel exhausts for most cars that last a lifetime; have you fitted one to your car?

The conspiracy theory that cars have β€˜inbuilt obsolescence’ is largely a myth; true, manufacturers want use to replace our cars as often as possible (and they produce new models every few years to tempt us) but deliberately building cars that β€˜fall to bits’ would be a ludicrous way of improving sales; would you by another car from the same manufacturer if that happened?

Inbuilt obsolescence is a fact of life but it isn’t the product it is built into it is the consumer; do you really need that new iPhone? Did your old phone break-down or do you just want one because yours isn’t as good as your mates? πŸ˜‰

The reality is that there are more people alive in India today than there were in the whole planet in 1840, and the graph is going up exponentially.
Scientists are probably being given more resources to find ways of vastly reducing the world’s population…

exactly my point before !! the world can only cater for a certain amount , we are struggling to house and feed those here now without growing

as you say if it was available would they deliver it?? ,, also if they won’t ( in some instances ) pay for a drug that only extends cancer sufferers lives , would they pay the ultimately more expensives cure price ???

While that theory is in all probability completely unfounded, it is certainly true that doctors do sometimes prescribe pharmaceutical products where a change in lifestyle/nutrition has proven equally effective.
…:) ).

Doctors also prescribe placebos…that doesn’t mean all drugs are fake. πŸ™‚

Certainly medicine is a big business, but think of the richs (and fame) a doctor or firm would get for curing cancer? Billions, trillions?
It would make the polio vaccine discovery (before my time, but do some research on the way it changed lives…a huge event) look pale in comparison.

Any stories about a huge conspiracy are right up there with a guy in his garage who developed a carburetor that got 100 MPG…only to be bought off by GM or the punter who figured out a way to make perfect diamonds but was murdered by the South Africans. Really, you might as well believe in turning lead into gold.

Please remember i was addressing jim’s initial query, about a wonder pill that cures, not just treats.

Tornado64, Paul, your right, that pill, costs Β£2.50 per day.or perhaps peanuts more, however I know a person who was refused it, but a PCT about 25 miles away, in another town would have prescribed it.
Nice to know just how much a persons life is worth, Oh, can anyone remind me just how many Bars there are in Westminster, and how much our M.Ps. spend in them each day?.It realy makes you know your place in this Country don’t it?.

As I am only three years off 70 it does have a few compensations. One is the wisdom I have aquired over the years another is tolerance of the ill informed young. The rest you can stick as it bags, sags or drags once you get your body moving and it tries to keep up with your brain!
