Does it really matter ?

According to a report in today’s Daily Telegraph, tennis player Andy Murray is uncertain whether or not to bow when he’s presented to the Queen at Wimbledon.
Should he ?

Hi Lincoln

Yeah we all had our say and left it at that. No need for a `Modern Military` style `fanboy` war.

I`m still waiting for a visit from `The Ministry of Love` 😀

Do you mean from, Alistair……….Darling?. 😀

Well, Ben, at least you have the guts to say whats on your mind. Freedom of speech, be it on forum, or in the Local, is one of the few remaining good features we still have in this once sadly gone down the crapper, known as ” GREAT BRITAIN “

Pagen – I stood in front of the picture of the queen and did the whole oath bit through grited teeth. LIke most there because I always wanted to be in the forces and to serve my country. I was out before I even started with my old man knees. If it makes you feel any better I torture myself every day and I meen every day thinking about the option I had to stay in. But it would have been for ever in basic, watching everybody else pass out before eventually being MD any way. But any way.

I did not have the self control to avoid this subject as I have with the `Cumbria shootings` `Bloody Sunday` threads.

I am not going to change my opinions. I am hower going to leave this disscusion because it can not go any further or achieve anything. I will not be acused of trolling and please be certain of this, I am not some kid who is going to take an EPGH style bashing from the `weight` of the forum.

I do hope that us members who have had many reasonable and interesting disscusions will be able to continue. Maybe even about aircraft.

The forum has changed recentley (in my opinion) becoming a lot more friendly. I have been on here seven years (probably not far off in real time, I realy should find something else to do) waiting for this to happen. I dont want to see it ruined by faceless internet arguments which are at best needless and at worst cowardly.

Any way I stand by what have previously posted and will leave it at that.

Ben

I’m hoping that though the viewpoints expressed are very different, that none of the comments are personal.

Just trying to prove a point a point to myself, stupid I know 😮
I can do it, it is just the week after when I have a little bit of trouble.
I have been training hard for this one, trying to get some muscles built up around my knees. A good by product of this is the loss of a stone in weight which is a stone less for me to carry 😀

How far off topic can we get ?:)

Having spent time on a forum for the 50+ recently, where vicious personal insults are the norm,I can appreciate just how polite this is in comparison,or maybe we are just really nice people. But benyboy, what on earth are you doing treating your knees to a 30 mile walk ?

benyboy – “The forum has changed recentley (in my opinion) becoming a lot more friendly”.

Nice to read that. I am a novice here, but enjoy it because of its ability to exude friendliness amongst forumites, however strong disagreements can be from time to time. Usually they end with a “shake-of-the-hand-agree-to-differ” and we move on to the next topic, resentment free. Long may it continue.

Isn’t that the nature of raising a contentious issue on a discussion forum Blue?

Bennyboy, perhaps you would be better trying to live in another state where the Royal family is far more draconian, I’m frankly staggered at your comments. Maybe it’s because I work at a place wheer the head of state is shown, and gets respect.

It just seems an issue over nothing Pagen. Apart from over-enthusiastic journalism maybe…

I’m afraid that, much as I like the chap, I have to agree with you re. Benyboy’s post though…
