Officially opened in 1935 Prestwick Airport was a training base for the Royal Air Force and a transatlantic gateway to the UK. Later, it became a hub for low-cost carriers, most notably Ryanair, offering flights to various European holiday destinations.
The package for Microsoft Flight Simulator is based on a 2023 airport layout with a high-definition photographic ground image with PBR effects throughout and accurate buildings.
Other highlights include sloping runways and enhanced night lighting effects, as well as optional static aircraft and airport service vehicles. It also sports realistic ground markings and full taxiway signs, authentic vegetation and airport fencing.
