Your original post prompted me to re-read Night Of The Whirlwind. Further to my earlier posts I’d like to add the following.

1. The author’s research and technical knowledge of the Whirlwind and how it was used operationally by 137 Squadron is excellent.

2. The characters are well crafted and believable and the way the author has written them invokes empathy from the reader.

3. The basic plot of using the Whirlwind for a ‘special’ intruder operation was well thought out and plausible.

All in all a very good read – and well worth the money.
