On a slightly more serious note, what role was it envisaged for, I wonder? The drag from that lot must have been horrific and by about 1940 the Bolingbroke was hardly the fastest on the block anyway. There were dedicated ASR types (Walrus) available and I can’t see it as a freighter on the lakes.
Maybe it was just too much gin?
