WHICH VULCAN DISPLAY

Having been fortunate to see XH558 display a number of times, there is one appearance that happens to stand out, and it was NOT a formal display. On 1 September 2012 White Waltham held its annual Members’ Day and I happened to note it was at Shoreham that day. So, with the aid of a colleague, the aircraft was persuaded to make a pass at White Waltham when en route back to Doncaster. Actually, Martin Withers (a speaker at the club a number of times) did a circuit as well, no doubt surprising many airfield neighbours with its noisy climb out! That was ‘different’ indeed!
