dark light

Best value for money.

What is considered to be the best value for money airshow in the U.K. for this year, and what would the cost be.
Thanks.

Ring any bells?

Please sir! Me! Me! Me! Me!

That’s one of the Air Atlantique pollution control DC3s on its way to an oil spill off the Silly Islands. Or Wales.

Ring any bells?

I was being a bit facetious. 😮 Lovely photo of a lovely aircraft.

I know the main types, but I couldn’t tell you the different Mks. I am sure it will come given time.

Sorry 🙁

Relax.

You have come to the right place.

We’ll start you off with something simple, like being able to tell the difference between a Spitfire and a.. …. DC3

Then, once you are hooked you’ll be begging us for the harder stuff.

That’s when we move you onto Legends.

Before long you’ll be shoplifting and stealing from your granny for one more fix of the Bungay & Flixton aviation museum

You have been warned

I find the engineering of the times fascinating; sights, sounds even better. I understand that you can even see the aircraft under restoration at Duxford.

You can go to the cinema and spend more money than the admission to aircraft museums. Crazy! 🙂

ThreeSpool.

I suppose it all depends on why you’re interested, in what floats your boat as it were. It may be the sight, the sound or even the colours of a ‘warbird’ (horrible expression), there can be any number of reasons. It may be the history, the design or the performance or any combination thereof.

For me, it’s the people. It’s the achievements that they represent, the actions of the people who built, maintained, flew, fought, and all too often died, that generates my interest.

Polythene Pam apart, of course.

ThreeSpool you are a disgrace. Fix it immediately.

Moggy

Sorry 🙁

To be fair, it is only in the last year or so I have gotten interested in – I still don’t know the correct term – “warbirds”. I was thinking Duxford would be a good start. The thing is, I do not have much of a clue about military aviation, and even less of why people get worked up over the colours on them.

On the topic of airshows, I don’t think I’ve ever been to one. I’ve never visited an aircraft museum either. 😮

Then that young fella, poses the following question, what are you doing on this forum?. As Moggy stated, your a disgrace, fix it.:D

Stunning photos Robbo, and I agree, where else could you see them.
It annoys me to think we Brits were the leading aircraft designers for many years, and now we have to see 63 odd, or howevermany,Harriers, sitting and rotting away.just because the stupid beaurocrats cant see beyond theie expense accounts.and that we need them.
If I could have just one wish, it would be to be able to put the GREAT back into Britain.

If there’s one word to describe the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden then it can only be magical.

Totally.
