Big Brother racist bullying

I have taken the trouble this morning to e-mail the CEO’s office at Carphone Warehouse (Link on their website) and question the wisdom of their sponsorship of this dross.

Whilst it was mindless pap for the couch-potato half-wits it could be ignored.

That it degenerates into racist bullying is probably a bad thing, though what the stupid girl thought she was doing when she signed up for it you can but wonder (had she seen an episode?)

But the way Channel 4 are cynically milking it to boost flagging audience figures is sickening.

I dont think any one is saying “things were better when I were a lad”, certainly not I.

The biggest problem I see for TV is not bad language, but the lack of imagination, vision and daring. Too many programs look and feel the same, often with the same presenters.

Bring back Eric and Ernie!!!!

I think we are lucky in that we have some excellent drama ( Sharpe, Cold Case, Midsomer Murders, Judge John Deed) factual ( Ray Mears, Timewatch, Trek ) , comedy ( Last of the summer wine but deffo not Little Britian !!) .

But its exactly as you say with a lot of the mainstream mass audience crud that they are putting out .Tedious and boring.

I’m not sure what anyone is surprised at. Isn’t the whole idea of the show put people in a stress-filled environment and watch then crack?

If we were living with strangers for an extended period and were being watched by TV cameras, most of us would eventually do something stupid…not that that excuses what went on.

The fault lies within anyone who watches this stuff…a mixture of voyeurism and the cult of celebrity. Yes, the TV networks put it on…but they don’t make us watch it.

It’s common knowledge that foreign criminal gangs are operating in this country, and probably in other European countries as well. I don’t have a problem with people who come here from other countries, for a better standard of living for themselves, and contribute to the countries wealth. What I do have a problem with, are people who come here, just to rip us off for their own personal gain, I can’t see how you can consider that being rascist. To say that I am a BNP lover is ludicrous, where did you get that idea from.

We have similiar problems here with high levels of involvement in prostitution ,smuggling & drug dealing by foreign nationals who came here obstensively to work or as refugees. Recent figures show a huge increase in the arrest of FX nationals being pulled in for fairly serious crime.

there is definately a case for vetting those being allowed into a country or at least more co-operation between police forces when it comes to the movement of criminals between nations.

and no ,your lordship ,this isnt anymore of a racist rant than the thinking behind what Roscoria has been saying….Its just that we also have enough criminal scumbags here without importing them! 😡

Absolutely. The quality of TV has definetely dropped over the last decade or two, and I think it is a world wide trend. We seem to celebrate stupidity these days, particularly the ‘yoof’ and yob culture, most adherents of which are non contributing members to society and the economy in general anyway..

When my daughter was born a year ago, I unplugged myself from The Matrix (TV), and I must say that it has been the finest decision I’ve ever made. I now realise that we have a finite lifespan on this earth and I quite frankly will not waste it on dross…..

Same here willhelm, gave up watching the dross years ago. There are much more interesting things to occupy oneself with, such as posting on forums. Using ones mind, instead of watching TV is far better for you, than spending countless hours in front of the box.

You could go back as far as the vikings to say that foreign criminal gangs operate in this country.I cannot believe the bleating from miss goody ,the promise of help and counseling dose not patch up what millions of vewers saw.Once a racist bully always a racist bully. The sooner she descends into her pit the better ,and its all going to happen again on the eviction of the other two harpies.

Thinking back to the time when big brother was first shown on TV many years ago, it was an interesting show to watch, and quite enjoyable. But it seems fairly obvious now, that it is not a patch on what it once was. All it does now, is to pander to the worst side of human nature, and exploit the participants. Perhaps we should bring back the collosiums and Gladiators for TV, this might appeal to those that watch big brother.

Oh yes there was crime before 1980, but nothing as serious as what’s out there today. Foreign criminal gangs are infiltrating this country, and there isn’t much that will stop them.

Well Hurrifan, the rot is well and truly ingrained into society then, even in Ireland. In the UK there seems to be an insidious criminal underclass, that’s responsible for benefit fraud, credit card fraud and identity fraud. This kind of criminality, poses a serious threat to the UK, and it’s law abiding citizens. This is what happens, when you open your borders up to all and sundry, without adequate checks. The scary thing is, this low morality is everywhere.

Roscoria,

100% right !!! Well said !

Its the same over here , mindless yobs roaming the streets abusing all and sundry, street crime gone through the roof ,unacceptable behaviors now the norm and life taken without thought if you happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time

A number of factors have caused this not least of which is the way some of the respected institutions, which previously would have been the pillars of society and holding the moral high ground,have been shown to be acting in a disgraceful manner;

police….involved in blackmail , forging confessions etc.

The Catholic church..child sexual abuse and cover ups of same..

Politicians ….fraud, backhanders, abuse of power etc etc etc.

With all these things becoming evident over the last few years and with some people having more money now than ever before is it any wonder that morals and/or doing the right thing have gone out the window? and those without are even more bitter and angry.

TV and the rest of the media have a lot to answer for by their purveyance of some utter tripe and the way same is used to almost brain wash the gullible , but then we all have a certain responsibility for what is watched and what is seen to be in demand.
