Calling all Facebook users!

Hello all!

Don’t know how many of you are already hooked onto this overly addictive game on Facebook but just thought I would advertise it on here in case any of you silly people with time on your hands are looking to become hooked onto an internet game! I warn you this game is SERIOUSLY addictive!! You have been warned!!!

http://apps.facebook.com/airline_manager/

The game can be described quite simply, set up your airline and conquer the world with your routes. You are given a 738 to get you started and about $400,000 odd in cash (I can’t actually remember the exact amount). You have to buy planes and set them up on routes, you also have to buy fuel in advance, fuel prices vary throughout the day so buy wisely! The game runs on a one plane, one designated route criteria and changing routes for a plane can incur a $5,000 fine as you usually have to cancel the route and restart it. The fine is for cancellation of the route, not change of plane! OK i am babbling on, any questions feel free to ask.

Yours faithfully

CEO of Aer Eireann Airlines :p

P.S. You also make your own logo on this game with Paint or I suppose Photoshop!! AND Buy shares in other airlines so remember Aer Eireann!! (Though I am informed I cannot be seen on the stockmarket for some reason)

777-300LR : 450 pax 17300km range therefore ticket price can be as high as $8850 = $3,892,500 gross potential.
On the other end of the scale my C172 gets me $1255 if I have 100% load factor.
Sandy where is your 10,000th post? Congratulations. 😀

I’ve slowed up due to internet connection problems (third world service provider). It is too bad there is no rural broadband internet via satellite available in this part of the world, (where angels fear to tread!). It is quite common in the USA, reliable and cheap.

Aer Eireann Update

Current situation as of 11:50 GMT 20/03/2010

Base: DUB and secondary hub at BHD
Company Value: $20,276,454
Stock Rate: $2.03
Fleet size: 44

Current fleet:

5x Airbus A318

1x ATR 42-600

3x ATR 72-600

10x Boeing 737-700

9x Embraer E195

16x Embraer E195LR

This week has been a particularly busy week at Aer Eireann with 15 new A/C being delivered since our last regular weekly update (5 A318s, 4 B737s and 6 E195s (4 Standard and 2 LRs)). We decided to add our 5th A318 to the fleet when we realised that Philadelphia was NOT in the south of the US! Our daily profits are now at just over $10,500,000 after you deduct maintenance and salary charges with ~2.1m lbs of fuel being burned daily, which is ALWAYS purchased at $400/1000lbs.

Plans for the coming week are: Monday begin DUB/BFS – LXR,RAK and then save up to gradually introduce transat from DUB – JFK, BOS, IAD, PHL, CLE and possibly ORD will all be served by B752s.

The leadership at Aer Eireann also decided on a more long term aim for the next month or so, being replace ALL B737 flights with A320/21 depending on demand and replace the B752s (which we don’t even have yet) with A332s.

All the best from the Emerald Isle!

CEO of Aer Eireann

Just went through this thread and bought shares in all I could. If anyone cares to return the favour in Embra Airlines 🙂 My stock is only going up slowly atm as I tend to buy aircraft when I can instead of saving up.

Sometimes I can’t open the website which is dang frustrating when you know that fuel or advertising is going to be cheap for a few more minutes. Right now I can’t open my hotmail either, but (obviously) the forum is accessible. Does anyone else find this?

Fuel, advertising and catering graphs are the same each week. Save a printscreen every day late at night then use them until the programmers get wise and introduce more random events. Look further up in the thread for the current trends.
