Calling all Facebook users!

Hello all!

Don’t know how many of you are already hooked onto this overly addictive game on Facebook but just thought I would advertise it on here in case any of you silly people with time on your hands are looking to become hooked onto an internet game! I warn you this game is SERIOUSLY addictive!! You have been warned!!!

http://apps.facebook.com/airline_manager/

The game can be described quite simply, set up your airline and conquer the world with your routes. You are given a 738 to get you started and about $400,000 odd in cash (I can’t actually remember the exact amount). You have to buy planes and set them up on routes, you also have to buy fuel in advance, fuel prices vary throughout the day so buy wisely! The game runs on a one plane, one designated route criteria and changing routes for a plane can incur a $5,000 fine as you usually have to cancel the route and restart it. The fine is for cancellation of the route, not change of plane! OK i am babbling on, any questions feel free to ask.

Yours faithfully

CEO of Aer Eireann Airlines :p

P.S. You also make your own logo on this game with Paint or I suppose Photoshop!! AND Buy shares in other airlines so remember Aer Eireann!! (Though I am informed I cannot be seen on the stockmarket for some reason)

Is there something wrong with the website this morning? I can’t seem to access it. Damn frustrating as all my flights are sitting on the ground.

Been finding that DC10-10 is the aircraft to get your bankroll building, seems to be the best pax to cost ratio, just got my first 787 today skint myself, but the DC10’s have helped my account back up to 13 mil :D,hopeful of another 787 joining the fleet tonight.
For information guys…i found a file somewhere which schedules the fuel and advertising prices at their lowest..been studying it for a couple of weeks and so far it has been spot on..might help some of you plan when to get $400 fuel or >$10,000 advertising:
GMT+1

Fuel $400/1000
Monday 0500 to 0959
Tuesday 0300 to 0459
Wednesday 0200 to 0359
Thursday 0200 to 0259
Friday 0100 to 0159 and 1800 to 1859 and 2200 to 2259
Saturday 0100 to 0159 and 1500 to 1559 and 2200 to 2259
Sunday 0100 to 0159 and 1300 to 1359 and 1900 to 1959

Advertising 20 billboards $10000
Wednesday 1800 to 2059
Thursday 1400 to 1459 and 2000 to 2059
Friday 1100 to 1259 and 1600 to 1659 and 2000 to 2159
Saturday 0400 to 0459 and 1000 to 1059 and 1300 to 1359 and 1700 to 1759
Sunday 0800 to 0859 and 1100 to 1159 and 1400 to 1459
Remember it is GMT +1
Another great resource for planning routes is:
http://amedmw.mooo.com/
you stick in where you want to fly from, choose the aircraft and it will show you the furthest you can get and the current demand per route and how much you charge per pax etc… very handy indeed, and seems to be getting the demand right.

Fleet is coming along nicely!

B737-800 1
B787-8 4
B757-300 2
B737-500 4
B767-200 17
BAe ATP 1
B707 1
Dassault Mercure 10

I bought a couple of 787s too early, so I built up a handful of 767s, now might be a better time for dreamliners…

Dream liners are very good, I have 11 :p, and cheap, just don’t do what I did and buy a 747-400D, 80 million, 568 Passengers yet has a range of 2905Km

787-8 costs $19M. Brings in about $1.5M per flight (unless you use it from Manchester to Liverpool and back:diablo:)

I just bought my second Dreamliner, serving the highly popular (but not entirely realistic!) Luton to Australia route.

I’m rapidly expanding.

Now have:
4x 737-500
2x 737-700
1x 737-800
3x 757-300
1x 767-300
2x ATR 42-600
2x ATR 72-500

I think I’m going to retire the 737-800 and the ATRs for newer aircraft.
The goal is to have a fleet with less that 300 hours per aircraft. (Not realistic in the real world, but realistic on AM)

Advertising price low right now. I was frustrated today because of this dang 3rd world country internet provider. Goes offline at critical moments.
