Lets hope that in the days to come, those that think that charity begins at home put that thought to one side to help those who are suffering in the Philippines.
It’s good to see that the UK, as always, is among the first to offer help and support.

As I have stated here, way back, I’m all in favour of the Worlds help in the Philippines…………………………………….BUT, I bet not one of us on here have even given a thought to the 28.000 Elderly in THIS Country who, it is estimated will die of hypothermia, or lack of food..And that was a prediction, well before the current weather forecast that this year will be a particularly harsh one, even equal to the 1947, Winter.Who will help them?.

Our government are donating on our behalf. What’s the point in the EU donation? Why not just reduce our EU tariffs, and enable us to give more to worthy causes directly? We don’t need a European dictatorship to be charitable.
I suspect your objection is to the EU itself. Nothing to do with donations, charitable or otherwise.
