Dont forget before you plan for this weekend – see you at Brunters!

Spent all last weekend waxing the Beech so now look like Popeye, well my forearms do anyway…

Last smell of Jet A1 before the Winter….:)

Think I will give it a mess this time.

Its Shugbrough on the 4th and that’s one of the biggest firework events of the year and runs till 11pm so I wont be home till the early hours.

Hopefully they will get their airshow back on track for 2005.

Anything louder than a pair of Lightnings at full reheat would burst your eardrums – end of argument 😀

Too bad I’m so far away… I might like that noise 😀

But dees01 is right, it seems that a GR7A makes more noise than the other one.

It still has a long way to go to beat a Mig23 on full reheat, though..

Brunty keeping it loud – what?

Frank, the Harrier sounds like an angry hairdryer compared to a Lightning at max re-heat! (at less than 300 ft I might add!) 😉 😀

-Dazza

or a pair of Lightnings!

or a Vulcan!

I would walk from the nearest railway station just to watch ‘558 on engine runs before the air test.

Porbably leaving myself wide open here but. Would have to argue, and point out that a unladen Victor, with four engines at max power surely is a lot heavier and noisier than a harrier with all the external stores it could possibly carry in the hover. Or any other mode of flight come to that. Just my opinion ……………… go on somebody prove me wrong ……………………

Eh up all, be good to see you!

The Beech has both wings on now, all control surfaces (well the elevator will be on at the weekend and i have to wax the blighter!) all engines timed, both props on we hope to have the engines turning by Christmas, but I think it’ll be more like the new year. Hoped to have the T-6 out on show, but the x-rays need to be completed so that’ll be on display on the Open day in May 2005…. shame really havent seem em both side by side yet….

Do introduce yourself to me (if you want to!) and will get you inside the beech and have a natter – Elliot certainly to claim his beer!

We’ve done an awful lot since you chaps saw her last…..:):):):):)

Hadn’t realised carrying bombs makes a jet sound louder…!

‘Course it does! More bombs means more weight, therefore more power needed to hover! Which all adds up to more noise!

“Nor does a Harrier sound as impressive as the Victor at max power………..”

Would have to disagree – Harrier GR7A (the big engined one) hovering with tanks and 2 1000lb LGBS sounds the terrier’s!!

Sunday 5th sounds like good fun. As I’ve not been to Brunters before, I think I’ll have to make an effort… 😉
