Duxford Meet – Saturday 6th March

Barring any last minute problems, I shall be treating myself to a trip to Duxford next Saturday, 6th March, it being my birthday the next day.

If anyone would like to meet me there, they’re more than welcome. My plan is to get to Duxford around 10.30 am.

This will NOT be an ‘official’ Forum meet, just a few (!) of us meeting up & walking around Duxford together. So there’s no need to commit yourself to going, you can just turn up on the day, though through this thread it would nice to have an idea who to expect.

Anyway, can anyone suggest a suitable meeting place at Duxford? Somewhere that we can all easily find, indoors would be handy in the even of rain.

So if you’re interested let me know here.

Geoff.

Right, it looks like Robbo & I will be popping into Madingley first too, before getting to Duxford for 10.30, when we will all be meeting by the nose of the Lancaster in the superhanger (Hanger 1).

Once I have an idea what time Robbo & I will be getting to Madingley, I will post it on here, so if any others want to meet there, they can.

If anyone wants to meet up at Madingley, & would like my mobile No to help us find each other there, then send me a pm.

No good to me I’m afraid. I was thinking of popping up there from Duxford.

I would like to visit the grave of Joseph Shields, the only member of the crew from the A-20 Havoc that crashed near to me in 1944 who is still buried there.

JDK,

Perhaps Kev could PM you his mobile No, you’ve then only got to ring & ask where on the airfield we are when you arrive. If you can’t get Kev’s No, I’ll let you have mine & you can ring me instead.

Snapper,
You weren’t informing HM govt about WMD recently were you? You seem an equally reliable source on both subjects! 😀

Very much hope to be there myself on Sat. Kev, we’ll meet somehow – I think you are going to be the easiest to locate, and I hope catch up with (!?) as I’ll be there lunchtime ish.

Ashley, hope uou can make it – there’s a couple of IWM things I’d like to ask.

Cheers
The past 30…

It depends on how fast you can move. The sheer joy and excitement on Kev’s face when he flies forward and bounces back into the seat is a wonder to behold. He loves it, regardless of what he may say!

“Will need to know what your new wheels look like, reg, and where you’re going to park. “

Silver tubular frame, with black seat and handles, wheels taking up half the total side area. No registration, and he won’t be parking – he’ll be riding!

‘Lonely Warrior’? I’m re-reading that again. Great book. Pyker Offenberg was very well loved and regarded in 609, and his death was a great shock to them all. Tragic accident.

Wish I was coming. Bah.
