I thought he was put away for violating the rules for the “Wot Plane” thread.

With all due respect, I don’t think Mr Ward owned or knew how to operate a PC, let alone be a member of any forum!

However, he was very well known to many who inhabit the forum and quite well known in the historic aircraft world although a previous thread about his case was taken down as I recall?

I love the sub-heading in the BBC article ‘Police Found’:

Of course to ‘journalists’ this constitutes an ‘arms cache’ but I wonder if the term ‘deactivated’ has been somehow dropped (:rolleyes:) from items in that list. I doubt the defendant would have got only five years if none of that list was deactivated!

I’m fairly sure possession of cordite is illegal but as far as I’m aware it is not against the law to own:

Training Bombs
Bayonets
Military Knives
Aircraft Parts
Antique Militaria

If it is I suspect a few people around here better get themselves a good lawyer! 😀

I think it would have been unwise to leave it as to continue with it might be considered sub judice.

5 years so what does that mean exactly? Six months on remand equals four and a half years. Most prisoners do a third of that and are released on licence. My calculation is this nonce will be out in under eighteen months!

Will the powers that be ban him from the forum?

Can’t remember his forum name, there was another thread about him when he was arrested a while back, Seems to have vanished.
