The forum has been running incredibly slowly for me for the last few days; it is patchy but sometimes freezes completely halfway through loading a thread while advising โwaiting for ____://forum…’
No other site I use seems to be affected; anybody else noticed any change?

Just to let you know I use BT but I havent had any trouble of late.

Tsch – hopeless, I very much doubt!:) We can only speak from our personal experience but why not make some initial enquiries of a couple of other providers just to confirm that I am not talking out of my *****? I have had no problems with Sky, with whom I have been for a while and I hear goodish reports about Talk Talk. Or Tesco, perhaps. Good luck!:)

See what I mean about being hopeless! ๐ฎ
Why was it that the only options for my e-mail addresses had to end with โ@btinternet.comโ?
By: Sky High - 23rd June 2011 at 14:58
The provider of your internet doesn’t affect your email address. I’ve had three providers in the last 4 years, but have never needed to change email addresses. The broadband provider simply connects you to the internet, that’s all.

I would get another provider but canโt face changing work / home e-mail addresses!
Plus until a couple of months ago it was working brilliantly and since I live in quite a small village Iโm not sure how well another provider would provide (wouldnโt they still need to use BT cables anyway)? Iโm pretty technically minded but a bit hopeless when it comes to internet, e-mail and TV / video (hence the TV thread)!

Pleased to say we ae not with B.T. and have no gripes with my provider.
It must be driving you nuts Warren, dump BT and get another provider.
I take it you have given your comp a squirt of WD 40?. ๐

Can you not find another provider?
By: Creaking Door - 23rd June 2011 at 10:19
Anybody still having problems with BT broadband and the forum?
My broadband keeps dropping-out (I have to reconnect constantly) but the forum speed is generally a lot better.
Iโm going to have a bitch to BT, if I can find a human-being to rant at; I donโt see why I should have to pay for this level of service! ๐ก

We are just going to have to live with the fact that all the advantages of the internet come with all the disadvantages………;)

They’re probably tying the line up by remote diagnostic tests of customers’ equipment to make sure all is working snooping on your connected equipment….

Well, that lasted along time BT! back at a snails pace here.
