When you talk about “blindly obeying” are you talking about the UK financial contribution to the EU ???

Does the British £ makes you more independant since it’s just following the US $??? Please explain me but I don’t understand very well.

But isn’t that the point? Like them or loathe them, they are all part of the same country, Europe isn’t and the fear is that Europe would become a “super state”, which appears to be an underlying concern for many people, although our dear Government would appear to love that to be the case. Sorry, you can stick a European “super state”. Equally, the French appear to bend/break the rules when it suits them, rather than blindly obeying them as we are prone to do.

Sorry, nothing personal but I have no wish personally to become part of a European “super state” or the Euro – I have yet to see any benefit as I have said before.

Not really: first, you have a “national” side on the coins. And second, you can go in the whole “Euro zone” with the same coins in your pocket, no need to change, and loose a lot of money in the process (and believe me, when you have 3 countries at less than 50 miles from home, this helps).

Imagine how it would be if you had different currencies in every American state?

The economical situation would rather be linked to financial laws / decisions, rather than to the currency itself..

It’s not the end of the EU, but it is democracy in action.

Carzyman just wants to see a rival economic and political bloc out of the way and is indulging in wishful thinking. 🙂

I was wondering what effect it will have on European Markets if the Euro goes the way of the Dodo Bird. I personally hate the Euro because I think it takes away the Make Up of each Country in Europe.

I for one am pleased. It’s time the erstwhile politicians listened for a change. They seem to have an agenda that doesn’t necessarily reflect popular opinion. The comments that it may still be ratified somehow smacks of complete arrogance IMHO, with the politicians seemingly determined to get what they want regardless of the views of the people who voted them in. I have yet to see anything to convince me that either the constitution or the single currency will benefit this country.

Its good now lets all vote the same ,as for joining the single currency, lets look at what it has done for Joe Bloggs in the countrys that have joined , not so much ,inflation high unemployment etc.

Considering that the whole Constitution was meant to be an evil French plot to dominate Europe, I can’t wait to see what the anti-EU Francophobes make of this one. :D:D:D

Oh dear is all I can say. Let’s hope we can get things back on track soon. It is especially significant because of France’s prominent position within the EU.

I would also like to see the single currency being extended to Britain. I think it’s about time we learned that we can’t exist as a little island anymore!

So Does this mean the end of the Eu? I ask this as some one who really doesn’t know th praticulars of the whole EU Charter.

Also how will this out-come effect the UK and other larger EU Countrys.

I was talking with some of my European friends a few days back and they said if France vetos it that it could un-due the whole charter and it also might see the end of the Euro what say it to that my EU friends. Personally I would like to see the Euro go and each Country re-enstate their old money. I think it would help the World Economey.
