Has anyone out there got a spare $50,000 (£30,000) I have just read in Trade-A-Plane that the former Spencer Flack Hunter is up for sale. Although not currently airworthy the aircraft is still in good condition.
Lets hope this significant Jet Warbird aircraft finds a good home. In many ways Spencer Flack and G-HUNT paved the way for many current jet warbird owners.

I see that the colour scheme has been changed from Spencers.

One of the UK aviation magazines had a very good article on Neville Duke and the Hunter he flew.I think that the Hunter is now at the Tangmere Military Aviation Museum.
Nice Hunter flying at the moment in the light duck egg ble/green(?) colour scheme, in the UK.

Perhaps we should also remember Mike Carlton here – who flew G-HUNT later. Who knows what he would be operating now, but for that tragic accident?

Sorry Alexis, I can’t see me getting rid of them, or the large collection of 1980s/90s patches & pin badges, all for display aircraft or teams.
Might be an idea for a thread there, for old patches/badges etc.
Geoff.

And if you are interested in letting them go please keep me in mind.

Might be slightly off topic, but I’ve still got a G-HUNT patch and a G-HUNT sweatshirt from Hunter One days. Might be worth something one day, you never know?

It was repainted in Battle of Britain-era markings for sequences to be shot for the movie “Pearl Harbor”, when the director was originally going to use Spitfire XIVs.
No pic, I’m afraid…! 🙁
