I’ve got it.
For Z1540/C read Z5140/C. 😉
Refer – Malta: The Spitfire year 1942. (page 116)

Help…..really confused now:confused:
Z1540….???
The photo of the re-painted Hurri shows Z5140……
I’ve got Z5140 noted as a Mk11B Trop delivered to MTO in Sept 41, No. 185 Sqn., Hal Far, Malta Oct 41. Destroyed in air raid on Hal Far 10/3/42.
Can some of the more knowledgeable members sort my confused old grey cells out……
Still at least she’ll have air under her wings soon which is the important thing…..:D 😀

“Why has it been kept such a secret?”
Prehaps one of the UK Magazines had agreed an exclusive deal? maybe we should wait and see the June Issues?

How about getting next year’s proposed Malta airshow visit with this aircraft over first?

I was at Duxford on Wednesday and they had the HAC Spit and Hurricane out in front of Hangar 4 for the filming of a Battle of Britain programme Peter Snow is making with his son Dan. The format is like the programme they did for the anniversary of Alamein if anyone saw that a couple of years ago……
Will dig out some pics over the weekend.

Whats all the fuss about? I watched Clive mask up for HA-C months back (in a public museum – hardly a ‘secret’).
Chris – lovely models but what shade of green are you using there? (Have you got a photo of the MK912 model?)

Good point Mark12.
When i first saw this thread, i murmered a ‘hmmmmm’ aswell. Although, if it is authentic, and a happy coincidence, then what the hell. As long as she is flying and isn’t dressed up in pink polka dots!!!
