Yep and replied 2252 last night.

I can’t find out who flew the Anson I’m afraid.

I absolutely love these pics Moggy, the ones of the Lizzie and the Spit in particular 🙂

Question for either Vintage ATCO or Tcatco; purely out of interest, which pilots fly the Anson?
Dodge Bailey flew it on Saturday, and I know that Tony Haig-Thomas and George Ellis have taken the controls, but does anyone else fly it? Andy Sephton surely? Thanks in advance.

Excellent mixture of pics Moggy. I see that it hasn’t taken you too long to get to grips with your Camera? Your becoming Damien’s competition! 😀

Cheers for posting mate. 🙂

I’m not an aircraft photographer. In fact I’ve been in discussion right here on a number of occasions for stating that the problem with airshow photography is that you miss the airshow and view it all through a little window. That very much is my feeling after Saturday, I missed so much.

But this time it was worth it since there were so few people there to watch a great show, that if I’ve brought it home to anyone that it’s worth risking 12 quid in the hope that you will see some flying, and if not considering it a donation to a good cause, then ‘great’, I’ve done some good for Shuttleworth.

Kit?

Nothing really fancy. One of the more expensive amateur digicams (Nikon 5700) straight out of the box. No accessories, I don’t even have a case for it.

I’m not in Damien’s league. You haven’t seen the 124 awful pictures!

But thanks for the kind words.

Amazing shots. A big thanks to Vintage ATCO for pointing me in the direction of this board over from PPruNe.

The picture of the Spit must have been taken when I was sitting in the car park of Biggleswade Sainsburys. Doh!

Whilst I appreciate Moggie C posting the pics I can’t help but think with the outstanding quality of these shots he/she should be embedding watermarks across the pics so that he can sell the unadulterated images on at a vastly inflated price!

The Lysander with it’s lights blazing buzzed me twice as I drove slowly along the road alongside Shuttleworth.

Top effort.

That shot of the Spitfire is fantastic. It reminds me of the footage of the HAC Spitfire V flying against a simillar backdrop at Music in the Air on the British Airshows 2001 video.

Thanks Kev,

I may well print it out and frame it. I go weak at the knees just thinking about what it must be like to sit in a Spitfire cockpit looking out at a sky like that (with somebody else paying for the fuel)

🙂 🙂 🙂

No Photoshop trickery here. This was the colour of the sky. The rainbow can just be made out off the a/c’s port wing.

What I wouldn’t give….

I wonder if anyone got a shot of the Spitfire flying through the rainbow or the Lysander with all lights blazing (including it’s new wing-tip nav. lights)?

We thought, at one stage, Trevor Roche was going to stay up forever – he was clearly enjoying himself in the Spit and put on a tremendous display.

Wow!

Moggy, some great shots there, but the sky in that first shot is just magnificent. 🙂
