Israel/Lebanon Situation (Merged)

Just heard on Fox News that a 19 year old Israeli soldier has been kidnapped by Palestinian militants near Gaza. The Israeli PM is attempting to get the authorization for a massive military operation to get the captured soldier back.

Apparently the militants used some type of tunnel to get into Israel and capture this guy.

I’m praying for the soldier’s safe return….

If anyone hears anything about this story please post updates. I just saw it on TV.

Propaply themselves…you know rpg rounds and kalashnikoviks aren’t so hard to found…And those “long range katyaushas”…I’ve mostly heard about homemade rockets, so could you be more specific…???

To arm and pay the saleries of thousands of memebers of Hamas/Jihad/Al-Aqsa cost millions a month. A single AK cost $1000

Katyusha is not a home made Qassem; it’s the soviet Grad rocket.
122 mm with 6 kg of explosives, range of 5-20KM.

Can I remind you all that sweeping negative statements about any ethnic group, nation, religious group, etc are a breach of the Code of Conduct set by the owners of this site and are not tolerated in these forums?

This is not up for discussion, debate or comment. Anyone who cannot express their point of view without resorting to stereotyping and racial slurs is posting on the wrong site. Persistent offenders can – and will – be banned from posting.

Please bear this in mind.

Thank You

Some of the current activities on the Gaza Strip come to mind.

If they would have been using the borders to bring goods instead of
Katyusha rockets then there wouldn’t be any activities!

I’m not saying that the occupation is the only factor providing grounds for terrorism. It does however add to the circle.

Once again, What troops or Settlers were in left in Gaza since the pullout last
summer?

or what pressure Israel
maintain on the Palestinians in Gaza or on their border with Egypt?

If occupation feed terrorist then why was there terrorism against Israelis
before the occupation or before the state of Israel was created.

Communication perhaps…But a controll? No way, the political wing of Hamas wouldn’t gain anything of this current situation. The proplem with the whole palestinian uprising is that it’s noway near centralized organised, none really controls the extremegroups than theyselves. It’s rather silly and sad to watch Israel and USA moarning to the palestinian government that they are responsible of the terrorist attacks when they really doesen’t have any means to stop them…

I prefer the direct approach. Going behind your back wouldn’t be dignified

Every bullet fired from Israeli guns are boosters to Hamas support…You never learn do you?…you asseble the musicans, you gotta face the music…

Agreed. Hamas should be grateful for Israel, because the many home folks who work in the PA ministries and public services today, can forget for awhile, about the lack of funds Hamas has, to pay for their services to the government. Hamas can also be very happy, that they do not have to fight Fatah at the moment, in a civil war for control of the government.

The real physical boost for Hamas support comes from Saudi Arabia. All I can say about Saudi Arabia, is that it is very entertaining, to watch different recent television programs, on the multiple forms, of soon to be available widespread alternative energy 😉 .

Everybody is pointing fingers at one another –

Haniyeh – The soldier should not be hurt
Abbas – The soldier should be released without conditions
Mubarak – Is trying to work out a diplomatic settlement, but needs more time
Marshaal – Claims to have nothing to do with this
Assad – Releasing the soldier is a good idea

Obviously none of the leaders can do a thing. – That is a bunch of b.s., that just sows confusion. It is a complete cluster f**k !

Israel needs to use clandestine operations, against the political and military arms (which is one and the same) of Hamas. Negotiations with Hamas is a complete waste of time. Hamas will only use negotiations, to regroup and resupply.

Heard the Palestinian gov’t is calling for a cease fire…….what a shocker?

Looks like they’ve backed themselves into a corner and they don’t know where to go.

I can’t say I feel sorry for them because they’ve done this to themselves.

The gov’t may not be the exact same thing as the terrorist part of Hamas, but you know there is communication between the two. As such, they need to get that soldier released (provided he’s still alive and since we’re talking about a bunch of animals that have in captivity I’m not so sure he is) to stop this military operation.

They are only shooting themselves in the foot more, the longer they hold that guy. I’m praying for his safe return.

Iluvthe4FE, I’ve deleted your last posting because sweeping negative statements about ethnic groups, races, religions and nations violate Rule 5 of the Code of Conduct.

Please think more carefully when posting in the future.

Incorrect information. The # has been over-inflated for political purposes.

Says who?? Before feeding me whit those claims, i would like to see where you base this accusisation? who made it?

Again. Their are plenty of happy Bedouin in the souk today. I am sure their are happy Israeli Arabs as well.

I doubt any of them would want to trade in a zionist aparheid government, for any combinations of nepotistic military dictatorships, monarchies, and theological fundamentalist oligarchies 😮 .

Yeas people mind work in mysterious ways, But in your last post your say it yourself: You are looking to apply Western reforms ? To whom ? It does not apply here.

Isent your description of theolocigal fundamentalist made out of western value-basis….are we contradicting ourselves in here?

You are not making the distinction between the 1 million Israeli Arabs, who are the citizens of Israel, and the Palestinians, who are not.

As for the number of refugess, the 4 million figure is the number of the current Palestinian refugees, not the number of Palestinian refugees who fled in 1948. Their number is growing because of the Arab League’s decision that no Palestinian will be granted citizenship in any of the Arab countries, so this number includes the original refugees’ descendants.

A lot of the so called Palestinian refugees of 1948, are not at all indeginous to the area (including Jordan). UNRWA has failed to take into account, that many of the Arab/Palestinian refugees of 1948, were recent immigrants from neighboring Arab countries, who just showed up to the area looking for work. After 1948, they were incorrectly classified as Palestinian refugees.

Agreed. – Only Jordan has given the refugees citizenship.

Some 50 years ago most of arab countries were unable to make a “pin” but time has changed, now most of them have well educated and rich people .

I think in next 20 years most of them gonna built there own nuclear reactors.

So how long Israel gonna exist with such harsh policy??

Do you think those arab countries gonna sit and watch the crimes israeli army doing?

If I was prime minister of Israel i used peace for land policy.

Science and innovation do not stand still 😀 .

But did I ever mentioned specificly the year 1948??? 😉

And to Alexz33, those things you mentioned are bit out of the context…Can you seriosly say the normal life is just ok in the palesinian area, that they have the similar rights and opportunityes like the Israelians??

in the last 72 Hr about 40 terrorist were killed. just because you want
to call a dead AK-47 and explosive belt carrieng hamas member a
“pregnent women “; doesn’t make him one. The more dead terrorist there
are in Gaza and the West Bank the less dead Israeli civilians there are.
It seems the shortage of dead Jews is irretible to you and I hope it stays
this way

How about that 6 year old girl + her family killed last night??? What about the fact that the international benefitorganisations are not allowe dto come to the Gaza area at the moment? What about the embarge of food and medicin??
