La-9

It seems everyone here just raves about it….and we get it in for the Easter airshow down here…

I know it is a stunningly beautiful aircraft but what is it that makes it so magical in the flesh ?

(In your guys (and gals !!) opinions)

And…

My flying ones aren’t as good as other peoples shots, but I like the details of these machines. It is NOT a coal fired aircraft – that’s the B52.

This really is a fantastic aeroplane and it saddens me to think I might never see it again……

If the La-9 was a woman, she’d be the sort you’d look at and really admire,…but stay well clear,,,,,:D

Purposeful, mean, stubby, and aggressive,…perhaps…

Mean and stubby like a pit bull terrier of an aircraft.

Well until the next decade, when the TFC La-11 takes to the air…….

Actually, after seeing OFMC’s La-9 in the air last year, I would have put money on Stephen Grey moving the TFC La-11 restoration to the top of the ‘projects-to-do’ list……just the kind of hot-rod he’d enjoy flying……:D

How long did it take to restore the La-9…….;)

Please stop torturing us mere mortals who, by the looks of things, won’t get to see this beast without using up suitable amounts of hard-earned green getting to New Zealand!!! 🙁
