Well this year will be my forth Flying Legends, having experienced 2001, 2002 and 2004.
However, i have always missed the oppertunity to visit some of the local Inns to sample some local ale. I can’t help noticing how often the Red Lion pops up in threads about Duxford and ‘the place to be’ afterwards seems to be the aformentioned establishment.
Could the regulars kindly point out how i get to this historic pub and also where else they recommend for relaxing with a well earned pint of british ale after a hard day’s plane spotting?
Thanks in advance.

Jealousy I reckon. Just because he’s not old enough to drink anything other than breast milk…..
How long they had that on tap at the Red Lion? :dev2:
So do they pour, squeeze or fondle it into yer glass?

I might even learn something remotely connected to aviation ( though I doubt it ) 😀
Not a chance, why bother to waste valuable drinking time talking about aviation?
Anyway Digby you’d come along for the charming and erudite company. 🙂 😉 🙂

The Red Lion is great, but i’ve been favouring “The John Barleycorn” of late. An exceptional pub, great food, always some interesting aviation related ales on tap etc. etc. It also has a good view of the Duxford Circuit from the beer garden!

I’ll be up the top end by the land warfare hall. I find that the best place for watching/snapping. There are usually a few people there from here. We could even build a shanty town. Now, what’s happening about T-Shirts? Did we come to a decision?

Ah! See your point.
But it has to be said that the top of your flight suit is a bit… er… bumpy?
