Legends Line Up

Sally B’s website has her listed as attending both days. Must be left off the list by mistake I hope. Wonder if Pink Lady will appear?

Slightly surprised that the OFMC Spitfire MH434 isn’t on the list or have I missed something?

Why is the B-17 not flying? Not money problems again 😡 .

looks like a good line up no F15 then 😀 and I see the BBMF are at Yeovilton on the 7th. Is the Hanger 11 collection not coming there be good to have two P-40 flying.

Sorry guys that I didn’t get the Sea Fury id quite right!

Just trying to sort out Permit to Fly for the P-39, Permit to Test for the P-40, radio annual and survey, radiator removal and refit on the P-51D, aileron cables to remake on the Staggerwing, mag drop on the Mk. XIV, fly the SpitV, Corsair, Bearcat etc etc for DA renewals for the weekend. Rebuild a Gladiator, Beafighter and a Spitfire 18. Think about shipping a Merlin to the USA for overhaul and another to Italy, bring back shipping stands from the US so we can ship a P-51 Stateside for the Gathering of Mustangs, and thats just before breakfast!

Thats some workload!…..it is easy to forget the amount of hard graft that goes into Legends when you turn up on the first day and see the participants in the line-up.
Parking them on the display line is most probably the easy bit, before that many long days and tight schedules have been experienced.

Which TFC P-51 is going back ‘Stateside for the ‘Gathering’?

Quite agree that it is fairly pointless ruminating about the weather.

However, given the monumental drenching we have endured for a month, I think it is worth cheering ourselves up with the thought that there is a glimmer of hope for better things to come.

Definitely no point speculating. We get what we get weather wise and nothing we say or do will make a difference so roll up, relax and enjoy. That’s what I’m going to do.

Just checked BBC weather on the website, and it is saying SUNSHINE (no rain indicated) on BOTH days!

Please dont start the weather thing, as one year someone was posting that the met office said it was torrentially pouring it down at Duxford where a guy i think lives in Sawston posted something along the lines of ‘nope it is bright sunshine here’.

In all the legends i have been to there is normally someone on this forum before the event going ohh rain or sunshine etc, I say wake up Saturday or Sunday, drive to Duxford and enjoy yourself i have never had a bad legends be it boiling hot or bringing forth enough water to build an ark !!

Plus you get to use the aircraft outside as either a sun shade or an umbrella !

Just saw on the news page of TFC website that the FW190 and the RAC Mustang have been removed from the list of participants.

the plane sailing cat is scheduled to appear according to their website. it would probably have to make a water landing at this rate. Fecking weather!
