Legends Line Up

Just had a look, It looks the business to me, I’m going to the shed to dig out the windbreak, stepladder and collapsible chairs, should have that lot set up on the flightline by 8:00 on the day. I could take the garden umbrella too, now that would be a first, or would it…….
Intrigued by the mention of the FW-190.

Europe’s Largest Collection of Airworthy Warbirds

The Fighter Collection operates, rebuilds and maintains Europe’s largest collection of airworthy WWII aircraft and is based at Duxford Airfield, in the UK. Run by a professional team of engineers and pilots for both airshow and film work, the aircraft fly all over Europe during the summer months to attend airshows from Austria to Switzerland. The fleet comprises of aircraft from the UK, USA, Germany, Russia and Italy – and the collection is constantly expanding as new aeroplanes are acquired.

Don’t worry Pete, I kind of agree with you. In years gone by we’d have had a full list of participants & the pages of this hallowed forum would’ve been rife with comment, speculation & excited “chatter” about the forthcoming event.

This year does seem a little, well, different; I don’t know if it’s because of a collective “holding of breath” as regards “Operation Bolero II” or what, but there is something different.

Can’t quite put me finger on it. Any road up I’ll be there Saturday or Sunday, weather depending (that’s as to which day I do go)

With only a week to go, I expected more than a provisional list of participants… it looks like it could be the usual suspects.

Looking at the amazing activity around the P-40B, it could be ready, but will it be test flown and certified in time.

Others have arrived much nearer the show in the past and been OK (P-39 and Polikarpov a couple of years ago for instance) so hardly beyond the realms of possibility.

whatever is there, it should be a great event as usual.

I was there for an hour or so, too. A lot of activity around “Princess Elizabeth”.

Both Fireflies in Hangar 1 at the moment. “Grumpy” out on the flightline.
Saw Charlie Brown pursuing the HAC Hurricane back into the hangar, but I don’t know if it had been flying.

Was at DX briefly this afternoon. A whole army of TFC engineers is working on ‘Princess Elizabeth’ and all the markings and paint appear to be applied now. Looks wonderful. Definitely one for ‘BlueNoser’. Whether she will fly or not for Legends, I wouldn’t want to guess as time is short for testing. But I’m pretty sure she will be in the line up, even as a static. Great work guys!

Anyone know which Seafury will turn up? The only one I can think of as airworthy at present is the Blue one. Or are we going to get a grey one ummm?

The RNHF aircraft will not be there sadly.

I should think the Dragon will be G-ECAN as Iolar (the Irish one) was last seen in the back of a hangar in Eire gathering dust whilst Aer Lingus sorted themselves out.
The other Raipde could also be any of the following:
Proteus G-AEML, the BEA schemed one G-AGSH or G-AKIF…

B-25/Lockheed 12
