With a, literally, earth-changing event about to start in Copenhagen I wonder which way forum members incline over this contentious subject. Having read a great deal of of evidence which unequivocally contradicts the popular belief I cannot accept that we should spend the trillions of dollars called for in the vain hope of changing the climate.

I sincerely hope that all the freeloaders with their ‘snouts in the trough’ and begging bowls ready to line their back pockets and swiss bank accounts are freezing their collective N*ts and T*ts off in copenhagen at the moment.
Hopefully they are enjoying some real northern ‘global warming’ π

Somebody punched the wrong guy in the face today. He should have been at the conference instead.:dev2:
By: quadbike - 13th December 2009 at 12:01
All the money spent on that conference would be enough to to move many villages under threat from rising sea levels out of danger. In fact, the landing fees at Kastrup for all those aircraft would feed those villagers for a couple of months.
My Point Exactly. Help people migrate further inland, get more areas under cultivation, invest on ingenious concepts like floating cities or sky scrapper cities, or even under water cities.
All this money we are going to invest in climate change will go into the pockets of the climate opportunists and by the time we realize the thing cannot be prevented there will not be enough time left to save lives.

So who benefits out of the ‘climate change conference’? The globalist elite, and they’re gloating behind the scenes as we type. π‘

Ah well, you can only hear that so many times…. :p

We don’t know anything about the poll sample and we can’t be sure how the questions were phrased.
It’s also worth bearing in mind that the result cuts both ways. Neither camp can take much comfort from this poll.
Sample size is everything. So when a lass says “You’re the best”…….

I only meant it as a bit of humour about statistics – and a dig at Fox News. π Apparently the 59% represented the”Somewhat Likely” or greater camp, which included the 35% “very likely” group.

Fox News putting in 120% effort. – see here
Or you could divide by 1.2 and find that about 78% thought it very likely or somewhat likely that results were falsified. We are only polaying with percentages, but it’s fun.;)

erm, not one soul is denying that it is happening, but 99% of respondees here believe it isn’t Man’s fault.
88.2% of all statistics are made up on the spot.

If your final few words there read “being used as just another excuse to impose more tax”, I wouldn’t argue with you.
There is, however, no doubt at all that average global temperatures are indeed rising. Even if we do not trust the various statistics that are quoted at us, shrinking glaciers and melting polar ice caps are sufficient physical evidence.
While only zealots and paid shills claim to be 100% sure of the cause of this warming, only a lunatic or someone in deep denial would seek to deny the very existence of the phenomenon.

Sure, being used as.
And I personally don’t believe there is very much of a man made global warming. What bothers me is the religious fervor shown by some “personnalities”, and their media followers, all that backed by what proved to be phony evidence.
Ecology is the latest cash cow, targeted at those like you and I, who work hard to make a living, while the real culprits who damage the environment (on a broad scope here, being trash, water pollution, … ) aren’t being remotely affected. As for a rise of the oceans by a couple of cm, so what, the water was higher before, this is just cyclic. And if you decide to build right on the beach, your fault.
regarding global temps, I also once saw a chart “proving” man made global warming… Well, guess what, the temperatures rose from 1940 to 1946 more or less. And then from the 1970’s on.
What happened then? a war in the pacific and in northern Africa, with lots of temperature readings in places where there were very little before, at a time where not all town had a weather station. The result? More numbers collected in warm weather, will lead to a slight raise of the mean temps. And from the 1970’s on, we saw more weather stations in the southern hemisphere as well, as a whole. Same effect.Just my 2 cents.
And, after all, bring on global warming, I always dreamt of having palmtrees in the backyard π
I have long dreamt about Migrating to Siberia and starting rice farming there. :diablo: Global Warming is not all that bad.

There is a good one in there : Climate Change and the Earthβs Magnetic Poles, A Possible Connection
(Energy & Environment, Volume 20, Numbers 1-2, pp. 75-83, January 2009)
– Adrian K. Kerton
Isn’t a reversal of the magnetic poles overdue?
