My cherished classic car has been nicked!

I just get a bit sensitve about the issue, having two cars stolen by these so called joyriding scumbags. Joyriding! Even the phrase seems to soften what these people do somewhat. Driving any vehicle under the circumstances that they do, and causing the many deaths that occur is almost as bad as wandering the streets and blasting away with a firearm in my eyes. Where the heck is the joy in that…a wholly inappropriate phrase methinks…whoever coined it should get a well deserved slap! Another statement of the bl**dy obvious I suppose…

In western society we seem to have gone to a place where anything can (and usually will) be excused.
-They were young
-They were poor
-They were outcast/disadvantaged by society (pick a reason)

If society can come up with an excuse for just about any behavior, no matter how bad, why are we surprised that these people have no regard for the law, other people, or property that does not belong to them?

See a car…want it…nick it.
I’m sure the thief can come up with a rationale to make it right in his mind. Or worse, never even think of it as wrong..have no more remorse for stealing your car than my dog does for p!ssing in my neighbor’s yard.

At no point have I wished death on joyriders. It’s just in my present frame of mind I can’t find any sympathy for them either.

As has been said it was a decent result. The scrotes killed themselves, nobody other than them was harmed.

but if they had been law abiding, it wouldn’t have happened in the first place would it? Equally, the passengers had a choice before they got into that car.

That’s stating the obvious somewhat. I’m not by any means saying go joyriding and don’t give a toss about anything or anyone else. I fully agree that if you choose to steal a car and you kill yourself, you have yourself to blame. Likewise if you choose to get into a stolen car as a passenger. It’s just the ‘they deserved to die like that’ tone from certain people in this thread I really can’t get my head around.

It would have been tragic however, if innocent pedestrians or road users had been killed by their lawless joyriding.

I agree totally, hence why I made that point very clearly in my previous post.

I’m sorry for not gaining some sick pleasure from hearing of people dying in horrific circumstances. It’s just me.

Tragic? I’m sorry, but that’s not the word I would use at all. If you are stupid enough to commit a crime in the first place by stealing a perfomance car, then proceed to drive it like a loony (in most cases without a licence and certainly without insurance) and then endanger other peoples lives on the road….just for kicks…then there ain’t no sympathy here.

Of course a death like that outweighs the severity of the crime…but if they had been law abiding, it wouldn’t have happened in the first place would it? Equally, the passengers had a choice before they got into that car. No. in my view it wasn’t tragic, it was an avoidable accident if these scrotes had left that car where it belonged.

The one and only positive way of looking on what happened is tat they killed themselves, and not other innocent people. That would have been even more tragic.

Really sorry to hear that this has happened to you. Although I can fully understand your hard feelings towards car thieves right now, in no way could I wish death/tragedy upon anyone such as those who died in Bradford earlier.
