One of my childhood stars has passed

Phil Everly. In my opinion no duo could sing as well as Don and Phil.

RIP Phil you gave me so much with you music.

Nice dogs those Paul. We had a similar type, a Norwegian Elkhound, and God help anyone who came through the side gate whilst she was out. I can’t understand some folks who did, despite a warning notice on the gate, stating “Dogs running free ” entered and then wondered why they were confronted by a snarling set of canine teeth.
When I used to take the Sunday Times,(Yes, I can read.) but not toffee nosed, I well remember a story, of a row of Terraced houses in London. Out of all the houses, only one, hadn’t been burgled, that house also happened to be the only one with a dog.

Sitting at my keyboard with my feet on a nine stone Japanese Akita. Our road of 35 houses has had two burglaries in a week. I have borrowed him as he dislikes people creeping about at night.

As Jims Piles are playing him up and can’t work out an insult from a wind up, I will expose his secret. He is actually Keppel in Wilson Keppel and Betty. Its sad really as he sang like a gearbox full of swarf so I present his stage career!

I saw ChasnDave once – but it was a bit of a surprise LOL
I took a cheeky wee blonde to see Eric Clapton at the Albert Hall in the late 70’s and we were both gobsmacked to find that ChasnDave were the support 😀

I would have thought that Flanagan & Allen were more your style, Jim (and yes, when I was very young, I saw them – and the rest of the gang – at The Victoria Palace theatre).

Cheeky Young Git, I ‘d sooner have Chas and Dave, And I can’t stand them either.

Hi All,
RIP Phil Everly, just to stir things even more what about that other missing duo Peters and Lee :highly_amused: Truth be known in the Everly Bros heyday they where the bees knees, each era has a great duo as well as some that last through era’s but again it’s down to personal choice even though I never liked their music they where a great talent together.
I saw the news of his death and it was reported that he was advised to quit his life style and in particular give up smoking and this has been a contributory factor in his ill health and final passing very sad news to a talented individual.

Yes, to some he will be sadly missed, but I can think of other duos who were better.

Sorry Jim they are all second rate has beens. 2 number ones between the lot of them. 5 for the Everly Brothers!

I ain’t getting into a slanging match over who is best. As I stated before, it’s all down to personal preference.
