Silly, small, moronic minds, that’s all, Pagen.:( The way this thread is heading I think I’ll look elsewhere for interesting debate.

This has got to be a joke. The Polish are criticising us?
So screw you Polish!
Nice – after everything they did (do) for us VeeDee.
Hasn’t this latest Polish thing come about because of that well known picture that was shown all around the world? You know the one, where the disgusting UK yobs looted, while a Polish woman jumped out of a window to save her life amongst a blazing backdrop – I would say that some Polish people have good reason to think what they do about some English people.
Watch out for those battenberg emblazoned paragliders now!

What a depressing thread.:( I know and have dealings with immigrants from many Eastern European countries – some are great individuals, some are a waste of space. Just like many of the indigenous British I encounter in an average week!

Edited: CoC Rule 15
Well the views are extremely different where I live, and in the mainstream media.

The Polish people in the UK, generally speaking have a very bad repution amongst the general public.
Not here in East Anglia they don’t. Plenty of them working the fields and working very hard.
They add a lot to the area and we’d be sad not to have them around.

Edit … I didnt mean that all of your 11,000 posts were odd btw 😉
Many of them are, to be fair. 🙂

Oh dear ! I am so sorry I kicked off a criticism (sp) of any nation, certainly not intended ! as someone said earlier my original post was light hearted and could have been taken as a well made piece of modern art ….. but everyone views things from a different perspective ????

Many of them lie in the Cemetery at Newark, in Cemeteries all across Europe and further afield. It staggers me sometimes the lengths that many went to to get themselves to England so they could fight on. Captivity in Russia to journeys through Persia, Turkey and North Africa. And so many of them were never to return to their homes.
I know it’s off topic but I think it’s worth saying anyway.

And so the Poles should have fought alongside us. If I remember correctly it was a treaty with Poland that brought the UK into the second world war anyway!
I am not taking away anything from the bravery shown in all three armed forces by their fighting men.

Absolutely correct Kabir…it was obviously a light hearted post by Keith originally…:)

The shear uselessness of this thread baffles me. Either you lot behave or I see the trash can in the future for this “discussion.”

Ah, the unmistakable sound of barrels being scraped. 😎

Please quote the part of my posting that you consider to be “a cheap shot”.
Ahem…you used a 4 word quote from veeones post guaranteeing putting her in a bad light and then posted the war memorial image…that is what I call a cheap shot – when you knew exactly what the point of her post was !!
Not the behaviour I would expect from somebody with 11,000 odd posts to his credit !!
By: Grey Area - 13th August 2011 at 20:58
I see nothing much changes round here LOL
It would seem not.

Very nice she looks too Baz. Incidently I think I am correct when I state only One Irish pilot flew with us in the Battle of Britain.

If we use Polish war heros in WW2 as justification for the Polish people in Britain being great people, then we must also then accept that Nazis in Germany in WW2 means that all Germans today must a bunch of Nazis war criminals! If one is justified, then the other is equally justified, we can’t cherry pick. The Polish people in the UK, generally speaking have a very bad repution amongst the general public. Its not just people from Poland however, “Polish” tends to be used as a blanket term for all Eastern Europeans.

Baz – And very nice she looks too. 🙂
danjama – I really wish you wouldn’t quote entire posts.
It defeats the object of having certain individuals on one’s ignore list.
