Present time

Just opened my Mother’s Day present from my student daughter – a cross stitch bookmark that must have taken hours to do ( all that drinking time wasted ! ) I’m well pleased. What’s the best present you ever had ?

Thanks, but what worries me is that my husband and my friends genuinely enjoy easy listening and the relaxing sound of the pan pipes.I think something must sneak up on you while you’re asleep one night and make you grow up.

I’m probably older than you and yer hubby….I have an 8gb Mp3 player, 4.5gb is Tiesto, 2gb is William Orbit, 1gb is “The Who” and the rest is a smattering or all sorts ranging from “The Manchester scene” of the 90’s to Motown to Elvis, even some proper Sinatra! (Big Band stuff where he belts ’em out).

Stop making your hubby into an old man!

It amazes me that I’ve got this old and still feel exactly the same inside.I didn’t wake up on the morning of my last big birthday thinking ‘Blimey ! I really must buy some James Last and Carpenters CDs !’ At this rate I’ll be the only one in the old folks’ home wearing a Linkin Park teeshirt.

I agree it’s an attractive idea, but sadly there’s not much of a market for old bats.

Don’t be so hard on yourself. As the saying goes-many a good fiddle played on on old tune. Oops got that a bit back to front but you get my drift. I think a divorce would be the best present Mrs C could give me for my next birthday but she won’t as she knows she would make me happy. Oh well I can always hope.

I’ve been married since 1066 ( or at least that’s what it feels like ) so I’d like a present like that ! Best thing I ever got, though not strictly speaking a present, was my daughter, born when I was 40 and thought I’d never be a Mum.Everyone say Aaaah ! Or possibly what she’d say herself, pass the sick bag.
