First time I’ve seen it on a widescreen telly, fabulous!

From the comfort of my middle class London flat,I was transported to the frightening world of today’s ferral youth in South Wales.Unemployment is high and they’re forced to claim benefits or steal just to get through another miserable day.Added to the fact that they live by the rules of the street,having little regard for themselves and none at all for others around them,so fights and arguments are a daily occourence which,it seems,are enjoyed by our band of miscreants.
I found nothing to like regarding these characters in this very hard hitting and down to earth story,which,I’m afraid,will not be seen by a wider audience.Respect must be given to ITV:WALES for having the courage to make a film such as this.

Winner of Best New British Feature at the 2009 Edinburgh International Film Festival, MOON stars Sam Rockwell as a lone astronaut who,while in the final weeks of a three-year contract mining energy from the moon, wakes up in his lunar base after a freak accident – and suddenly discovers that he’s not alone.Kevin Spacey does his best HAL impression as the voice of the on-board computer.Made the way they used to make them years ago,this film doesn’t rely on CGI FX to grab your attention.If you enjoyed Dark Star,Silent Running and 2001 then this is right up your street.

Angus (Alex Etel) discovers what appears to be an egg while on a beach trip during World War 2. The egg hatches out a small, prehistoric-looking creature that Angus decides to try and raise – naturally all kinds of trouble ensues!

Surprisingly touching in places, with stunning special effects (and a brief appearance by a Hawker Hurricane – and it’s REAL!!) and decent performances all-round.

A 1942 evergreen

It’s a dreadful 2 ½ hr long advert for toys. Some very (IMO) age inappropriate language, convoluted plot, we’ve got the Uber Orb for all time. Ah, but we have the energiser bunny, for all time, yadda yadda…… poor, very poor.

I think most of your points there are quite accurate. Yet…I thought it was great fun regardless, even if the back door to the Udvar-Hazy museum does now magically lead to Arizona! Didn’t want anything to do with Star Trek, missed Terminator 4, but made sure to see this one. Can’t wait for this to be on Blu-ray!

An outstanding performance by Sean Penn…truly one of the finest actors in the world

Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott star in this surprisingly good comedy of two pals who must do 150 hours of community service by being, well, role models to two kids (fantasy role-playing geek Christopher Mintz-Plasse and 10-year-old smart-ass and boob fetishist Bobb’e J. Thompson), otherwise they go to jail.

Rented by the housemates – think it’s a candidate for a DVD purchase!
