The Reader http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0976051/
It starts as every 15 year old schoolboys dream- a summer affair with a 40 year old blond and ends up in a gripping court case revolving around holocaust atrocities.A quality film.

still not entirely sure on the storyline

from what ive worked out, a squad of 7 elite german troops survive an attack by US forces but 6 have previously been involved in executing deserters from the german army

after the attack they lock themselves in an underground bunker with limited ammo, the ghosts of the deserters play tricks on the minds of 6 of the troops and they start seing the execution through the deserters eyes, tricking them into killing each other in “the tunnels” (this is the bit i dont get, tunnels full of skeletons) the end result is interesting to say the least

id give it an 8 out of 10 although the story line isnt too clear, the film makes you think, pshycological thriller i would call it, not really a horror

I just watched ‘Les Chevaliers du Ciel’, or ‘Sky Fighters’ in non-French speaking countries. A lot of really great flying and dog-fight footage, mainly with Mirage 2000’s.

The story is about the theft of four Mirages by North African terrorists and mercenaries which will be used for an attack on an European summit, held in Paris. Of course the attack is countered in the end by the two heroes of the Armee de l’Air.

A well spent Sunday afternoon. If you can lay your hands on it, don’t hesitate.

Tillerman.

Saw Stark Trek on Friday evening – excellent pre-quel with good action scenes and humour in places. Could see a follow up being made. 9/10

Angels & Demons was also good and followed the book quite well with a couple of major differences. 7/10

Classic 1980s horror starring Dee Wallace-Stone, Patrick MacNee and mind-boggling make-up effects by master Rob Bottin (who worked on The Thing).

The making-of documentary is also worth a watch.

Star Trek

Far far better than I thought, plot line a little contrived to pull it all together, but hey, its sci-fi so who cares. Well worth a look, if only for the excellent character acting and nailing down the “originals”, Kirk, McCoy and Spock especially.

Saw Wolverine last night – fills in a lot of the missing story with the later X-Men films – 8/10
