In view of what has happened to these, and indeed other School children, and many other incidents that have taken place, involving the use of Shotguns and Section 1 Firearms.do you think that any individual should be allowed to own seemingly as many weapons as they like?.in the U.S.A.
Personaly, I think the 2nd should be fine tuned, to allow anyone to own the minimum of weapons they REALY need, And all weapons be kept in a secure place within the owners property, or at a gun club, where they are secure.
Should they adopt the same rules and regs as we have here in the U.K.
The other week, I was watching a U.S.A. program where a family business purchased and sold, also traded weapons, and one chap brought to them a pristine GATLING gun he wanted to sell, need I say more?.
What are members views on gun ownership in the States?.

If his record is clear he has the same state and Federal firearm rights as any permanent resident, regardless of citizen status.

So Rick, Does the 2nd apply to you?. Just interested as you have 20 guns, but are an Alien, do you have all the rights?.

Rick, Are you classed as a fully fledged American, or living in the USA as a Brit who “Just” works there, Dual Nationality ?.

Your democracy is being bought and manipulated courtesy of the manufacturers.
It’s not mine, I’m not allowed to vote 😉

ZRX- yeah but its not above your pay grade to suggest that getting innocent bystanders off the streets while they try an find the suspect is in some way incorrect! I should imagine if you get any text book on police operations will will clearly say get the people out of harms way -its fundamental!
As for your analogy on cars -bombs and guns -great! Except that with the drunk driver they take his license and some times put him in prison. With the bomber they put him in prison and keep a close eye on who can buy fertilizer and with the gunman they put him in prison and blame society for how he has been brought up.

Couldn’t quite work out this :’And as a cherry on top – Diane Feinstein is on the Domestic Terrorism Committee.’
Until I read :’Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein of California on Sunday said she would introduce a bill next month to ban assault weapons and limit magazines to 10 rounds’
Lol ! Diane is no good at her job then because she suggested the ban! I guess if she was Republican and loved guns she would be doing a really good job in Boston !

RPR -these facts are quite pertinent :
$5.1 billion Estimated federal and state taxes (business and excise) generated by the industry in 2012, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation
$14 million Amount of money the National Rifle Association spent during the 2012 election in an attempt to defeat President Obama, according to The New York Times
profits at Smith & Wesson have risen by 140% since President Barack Obama’s election in 2008, according to Forbes, a trend that’s been widely interpreted as anticipation of possible gun control legislation from the White House.
The information is all out there – there looks to be 5.1 Billion reasons not too care when people die ! As always its all about the money. Your democracy is being bought and manipulated courtesy of the manufacturers.

Do they not have helicoptors with IR? could they not have waited until the target got into a less inhabited area? or did the desperation of finishing this overcome all reason and sense.
There are at least 3 Blackhawks & apparently a Kiowa gunship(?) in the area
So Rick, How would you have dealt with the situation?.BTW, I didn’t know you owned 20 guns, question is, why?.
Jim.

Meanwhile…. who needs guns?
So the terrorist on the run in Boston has managed to procure himself an AK-47 – illegal to own in MA – and the Police have told their largely unarmed citizens to barricade themselves in their homes and call 911 in the event the terrorist shows up at their door. Washington logic playing out right in front of us. And as a cherry on top – Diane Feinstein is on the Domestic Terrorism Committee.

Sorry but many pumped up idiots running about with guns will end up with them killing one another or a member of the general public. This is from watching the coverage of the shoot out and the guy who had the round pass through his house. The yank way seems to be blaze away at everything in the hope that they will kill the suspect.
The British way is not to fire unless you have a clear target. So tell me who is right?
Moving on it was a complete unplanned **** up that despite all the resorces thrown at it the suspect got away.
Do they not have helicoptors with IR? could they not have waited until the target got into a less inhabited area? or did the desperation of finishing this overcome all reason and sense.

RPR -same again ! Attack someone for being supposedly ‘liberal’ whilst trying to ignore the fact the the corporations plough money into the NRA to get their pro gun message across. None of it is about your liberty or your supposed rights to have guns for self defence -its about the big manufacturers wanting you to buy their products and the millions
they get from it! (Facts? LOL–all you have is your self-righteous opinion. Not a single fact there, hatred maybe. No facts)But yet again you fail to suggest one single thing that will help in any way to curb the bloodshed and prevent guns getting into the hands of radicals and murderers.
Why don’t you just suggest one idea ?? It won’t hurt -you won’t become a liberal -it won’t infringe on your rights -just say one idea -nobody will judge you on it! (Because I am not concerned. I do not use false sympathy to float a dogma based on hatred such as you do.)As for your snippet on the ghosts -amazing – I have never had replies like yours with so much to say that means so little! (Then you probably should not make statements that puts your opinion on the same level of the Great Carnac.)
Anyway you now have some teenagers having a gun battle in Boston – but there is no ‘problem’ in America with guns !!!
Nope, not a problem with guns, none.
A serious problem with a society whose lack of moral standards has let the young degenerate to this level, while blaming an inanimate object for its failure.

When a car driven by a drunk kills people they blame the driver
When a bomb kills people they blame the bomber
When a gun kills people they blame the gun????

As for Piers Morgan – you don’t like him because his opinion isn’t yours -however rather than trying to suggest something it’s far easier to persist in the notion that the status quo works.
The yanks don’t like Morgan for the same reason as the Brits don’t like him: the guy is a parasite.

RE: the recent senate vote…
Allow me to point out that 16 Republicans voted FOR the new restrictions…
and two Democrats voted against them…
Meaning lawmakers will vote whichever way their state constituents are leaning.
In other words, it’s not just a simple left-right issue as some would have you believe.
By: charliehunt - 19th April 2013 at 14:33
Yes, you could well be right. One thing is for sure that it is extremely unlikely that the culture which marries the average US citizen with his firearm is going to change in the near future.
On one of my infrequent visits to this thread I am reminded of what I wrote about 840 posts ago……..

ZRX61 -Your Second Amendment rights interestingly were clarified somewhat by Columbia vs Heller in 2008 . This passage is pertinent :
‘Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose’
So the reality is that you don’t have carte blanche to own anything you like.

Your the sky-is-falling soapbox rant is the only item that is ludicrous.
Your rhetoric is the same arrogant self-righteous prattle liberals spew forth when they get on their soapboxes and tell other law abiding citizens how vulgar they are for not bowing to the DNC dogma.
Piers Morgan is a fear monger, of course, that is the tool the DNC uses most often.

RPR -Your the same old recording of we dont want to do anything because its Democrat Vs Republican and then you couple that with the lobby of the corporations and you have the attitude that its safer to do nothing and live with the carnage! At some stage people will wake up and realise that the government isn’t coming to get the guns -they don’t want to turn America into some kind of socialist state and ownership of multiple weapons isn’t ensuring democracy or the freedom of the people. As for trolling -I have been posting on this forum for a very long time -I don’t hide behind any initials or ‘identity’ and I say what I think rather than cheap sniping ! Maybe instead of thinking that everything is us Vs them you could actually think of something that will make things better?
As for the constitution not stating how many weapons you could have ! The arguement is ludicrous ! It was meant that you had the means to form if necessary a militia with your fellow citizens – they clearly due to the cost of weapons didn’t expect guns to be ever a cheap household item so you could afford your own armoury!
As for Piers Morgan – you don’t like him because his opinion isn’t yours -however rather than trying to suggest something it’s far easier to persist in the notion that the status quo works.

What does puzzle me is that there’s an outcry over a single terrorist incident (as tragic as it is) whilst there is apparently no concern amongst a lot of Americans over the fact that since the mass shooting in December some 3,000 Americans have died of gunshot wounds. Which is the greater tragedy?

Just one weapon to defend ones own family and property. Not build up your own personal arsenal, as seemingly the NRA does.

The 2nd doesn’t say ANYTHING about how many you can have & you didn’t seem to have any issue with me having about 20….
& one what exactly? one pistol? one shotgun? one rifle?
