Due to a recent series of arguments I’ve had with J-20 regarding something as simple as where he is from, I got to thinking….why not ask the whole forum? I was curious where everyone was from for the the purposes of my Iran topic.
That thread bombed pretty badly so I’ll avoid adding a subject matter in this case. This thread is very simple. I’m just wondering what all different nationalities we have on the forum. This is purely for fun, and if you are offended by the question then of course you don’t have to take part.
I just thought it would be neat to get a nice cross section of members. I fully expect most to be from the UK, but even if you are please just state so for the purposes of this thread if you so choose to take part.
In addition, if you were born in one place but now live in another please share that as well.
Thanks in advance to those who choose to respond!
I’ll go first: United States

Perhaps they’re too busy trolling (us Brits)………..

You’ve not had much experience with the Indian posters on aerospace forums then I presume? Most can be summarised as chip + shoulder.
Maybe I should start another thread where I ask all the trolls to post where they are from. 🙂
They won’t do that. Most of them live in the west, but like to make out they are from [insert place in Middle/East Asia].

Born in God’s county in a little place called Cudworth. Spent 20 odd years in RAF as an aircraft engineer travelling the world, fancied a complete change when I left and now live in peaceful Lincs teaching music. If it had hills it would be nearly as good as Yorkshire. To any Yorkshire knockers I will just say this to assert our superiority. Someone once asked the Queen if she hadn’t been the Queen what she would rather have been. Without hesitation she said ‘A Yorkshirewoman.’ I rest my case. 🙂
Phantom, it’s not surprising we’re mostly Brits as it’s a Brit publication. However, always good to see other nationalities.

I always figured this forum was Brit-centric
Perhaps this is because Airliner World is a UK magazine and the nationality profile of the forum community reflects readership figures.
The internet is supposed to break down such boundaries, but it often doesn’t in practice. Mind you, I tried to join a few US aviation magazine forums, but some don’t have them.

Thanks to all who have posted. The thread seems to have hit a lull, so hopefully more people will notice and join in. I always figured this forum was Brit-centric, but if the posts are anything to go buy, its far more than I had imagined….perhaps people from other regions just aren’t posting though?
In anycase keep the replies coming and thanks again to all who have shared.

Sorry to sound like the good old days, but the West Lancs area many moons ago was great, much testing of Canberras and particularly a very fast, noisy swept wing thingy that didn’t exist, turned out to be the P1 eventually Lightning.
For some reason at that time the area was a designated test area running out to the Irish Sea for high speed testing.
Still do see Typhoons on test, but not as frequent as used to be.

Born and lived in rural West Lancs, now live in Southport which according to some is Merseyside, but to the best of my knowledge has never actually moved, on that basis still in West Lancs.
Sad lack of military airfields around.
