Ashley,
Maybe the time has come to impose suspension upon those who seem to enjoy the sport of flaming?
I have to admit I have not been visiting here much lately but when I do I shake my head at some of the posts… 🙁 🙁 🙁

The weather today is a bit overcast – looks even misty down towards Duxford as I drove into Cambridge this morning. Hope the forecast for better weather this PM comes true.

Some of you will realise that I have just performed an extensive bit of pruning on this thread. As well as removing the offending threads I have also pruned most of the posts directly relating to them. If you are in the latter group, it is nothing personal, it just makes the thread easier to read for others without having to wade through half a conversation.

Good forumites, can I PLEASE suggest that you make use of your ignore function if someone annoys/irritates you. The petty squabbling (and I am well aware that there are certain members whose sole contribution to the forums is to try and irritate certain other members as) has become extremely tiresome, and as a result we have and continue to lose valued forum members for whom these forums have been spoilt by this.

Have a happy and safe weekend everyone,
Becka

Your going naked… 😮
What will you do with your hands?

Worry not, I’ll be at hand with my camera should you start to panic.

I’m easy to spot…I’ll be carrying a Canon with a 100-400 on.. 😀 😀 😀

Should be easy to identify then. 🙂

I’ve decided to follow Moggy’s policy for a change; leave the camera at home and watch the display. I have a nasty suspicion I’ll miss a lot of the show wondering where I’ve put the camera down.

Well, I’ll not be there on Sunday, am helping a buddy out with his Spitfire but I’ll be @ Duxford 2moro.
If you wanna look out for me, I’ll be wandering around with my camera 😉

Blimey, is it safe to come out yet…?

Stewart – very glad to hear you’re enjoying the forum and constantly learning. Vintage aviation hasn’t got enough youngsters in it, so we look to guys like yourself to come in and learn from the ground up, so to speak. Yes, you’ve been given a fabulous opportunity with the Hurricane, but the bottom line is that you’ve taken the decision to get up off your ass and get out there and help. All credit to you for that. Keep that attitude in life and you’ll do just fine mate. 🙂

As for bitter and twisted people who only intend to slag others off… well, life’s too short, so just ignore them. You can even click on ‘ignore’ on this forum to make sure that certain people don’t bother you with their inane drivel any more. I’m about to. 😉

Right, forum politics aside, the countdown’s begun. Some of us are already on the way, others of us won’t arrive until tomorrow. Some have had all sorts of traumas in recent days, but will still be there. We have visitors from overseas, we have the ‘old crowd’, and we have attendees young and old.

In exactly 24 hours time, I’ll be having the honour and privelege of giving something back to a pair of WW2 RAF ‘erks’, one of whom will celebrate his 85th birthday on Sunday, and the other will be coming in to Duxford with us tomorrow.

Let us not forget, that this is what this weekend is all about. There is no room this weekend for our petty squabbles and differences. This weekend is one for reflection, especially given events of the past 24 hours. It’s our chance to remember those who fought for the freedom which we enjoy today, and above all, to thank them.
