I trust you’re talking about the pretty metal one not the pretty-mental one?

Would I be right in thinking you might have met Janie too? I hear she’s quite famous. And a bit of a looker too.

I once got overtaken by a rover 820 it overtook on a no overtaking road, Well I was driving a rover 820S so it was payback time, Past with no problems. Only to reach the traffic lights in Camberley and be greeted by Prince Andrew and his protection officer? Yes I was red faced. But he did say Hello.
He was on his way to the RMA.

Anna:) 😉 :p

Didn’t some misguided chap build a monument to William Wallace and based it on Mel Gibson, an exact replica I believe.

There’s a statue near Stirling commisioned around the time of the film which is really a statue of Mel Gibson as William Wallace in the movie.

I remember when it was first released over here, it was unsafe for anyone remotely English to be in the vicinity of the cinema when the film had just finished. The local Scottish population were coming out pumped up and ready to re-live the battles.

Mind you the same thing happened when they featured the Battle of Waterloo, only then the French came ready to Surrender to the first Brit.:D

My mum once bumped into Mel Gibson and Catherine Zeta-Jones in Edinburgh while they were going to the Braveheart premiere.

She phoned me up in a state of near-hysteria to tell me all about it! Sad, sad, sad…! 😉

Speaking of Jersey… Telly Savalas was staying in a hotel next door to a B+B I stayed in in St Hellier in 1981. Saw him playing pool whilst sucking on a trademark Kojak lollipop ! 😀

Er…. Did I mention The Chuckle Brothers ?

Met the Scottish group Runrig.

Tend to come across the odd star here in Jersey, dropping off their dosh no doubt. One that springs to mind is Kenn Dodd who I bumped into coming out of HSBC one lunch time.
