According to somewhat of an unreliable source, I am led to believe that Ronan Harvey’s Hunter T.7, XL577, has finally been flown after a restoration that has taken over 6 years to complete. Can anyone confirm?
I have built a quiet love for the Hunter over the years and have been longing to see this particular bird in the air, since seeing her for the first time back in 1998.
If the above info is correct then congratulation to Andy Barnes and the rest of the Delta Jets team on another excellent restoration.

Kemble Air Day is on Sunday 19th June 2005. Expect to see lots of Classic Jets plus modern military hardware and the Red Arrows (you can’t have a Kemble Air Day without them!).

That Spit’s been my wallpaper since it was posted.

Well that’s up the show organisers but we’ll certainly see it at Kemble! From Glen:
The Blue Diamond will be available for airshows during 2005 and demand is expected to be high in it’s debut season. Couple this together with Delta Jets’ other Hunter the “Black Arrow” (WV318, G-FFOX) and the “Yellowjack” Gnat, organisers will be able to have a unique formation of classic early british aerobatic display teams.
For more information on the availablity of these aircraft for 2005 contact Glen Moreman at Delta Jets on 01285 771577.
I can not wait to see her she looks lovely,I have always wanted to see a Hunter in Blue Diamond scheme because in my view a Hunter looks even more elegant in these colours.
Well done to all involved she is a is a masterpiece.

The hardest part apparently was getting the white flash on the fuse symmetrical!

Oh Albert, you do know there is a noose lying in reserve for the first person to query the paint job, don’t you? 😀
Would that be the brushed or sprayed blue you’re talking about…? 😀
Would that be the noose for the moose in the hoose? Sorry, can’t help being a stickler for accuracy. I’m sure it’s correct – probably your photos that don’t do it justice! :diablo:

Fantastic paint job, well done all at Delta Jets. 😀
Just wish I could get over to see it on Saturday ( work 😡 ) – of course you could fly over Cambridge on your way back, it’s only a little bit out of your way, how about a stop over at Duxford for the weekend so we could get a good look on Sunday 😉 😀
Seriously, I’m really looking forward to seeing it next year.

Or Possibly Brobat Bloo 😀
Albert, the picture is being viewed on your uncalibrated (I assume) monitor having been downloaded and processed using Damien’s (presumably calibrated) monitor, even if your is calibrated then it may not be exactly the same. I humbly suggest that you see it in person before commenting on exact shades of blue. Heaven forbit you may even have a TFT!!!!
You are only down the road, pop over and have a look I can recommend the coffee in AV8 🙂
To (mis)quote the speaker of the House of commons “the eyes have it” (except in Robbos case of course).

It is lighter than “roundel blue” don’t ask me by what name it is known but we did manage to get the original paint spec number for it. Harry Anwar “Blue 12” was with us yesterday to give us the “Blue Diamond” seal of approval, wonderful chap, he told us a great tale of the day he shot down 2 Israeli Mirage with the 30mm cannons of a Jordanian Hunter!
By: ALBERT ROSS - 20th October 2004 at 23:05
Well, well that was quick…and you didn’t need my photos after all. Looks superb!
Just one question, what shade of blue did you use, as it looks a bit lighter than ’roundel blue’, which I believe is correct?
By: Glen - 20th October 2004 at 22:15
Glad you all like the scheme……..you won’t beleive how many very late nights were involved with getting her ready for Tuesday. She is penciled in to fly on Saturday (weather permitting) to do a fly by at the 92sqn reunion at Cottesmore.

Amazing. Just four weeks after the owner decides he wants the Blue Diamonds paint scheme, and there she is. Stunning. Congratulations to all concerned! 🙂
